December 4, 20241 yr Just wanted to see if anyone else has or is experiencing a problem with the Fenix speedbrake. As I did in MSFS 2020, I have a switch on Thrustmaster Hotas Throttle within MSFS 2024 assigned to toggle the arming of the speedbrake - in MSFS 2024 it works momentarily i.e. it will arm the speedbrake (and I can see the lever is raised within the cockpit) and then returns to the unarmed position. I also have an axis assigned to the spoilers in MSFS 2024 and that works fine. I keep getting a message on the ECAM saying that the speedbrake is out - yet the speedbrake is not armed or deployed by the lever in the cockpit, and when I look outside the aircraft the speedbrakes/spoilers are not out. Any thoughts or suggestions? George Westwell
December 4, 20241 yr Make sure the switch you used, in the cogwheel for detailed settings doesn't have the "repeat" enabled. Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
December 4, 20241 yr works fine here with the TM throttle quadrant. Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
December 4, 20241 yr I sometimes have a similar experience and found that if I quickly extend the spoilers and then retract the spoilers fully by pushing the axis lever firmly, the ECAM message disappears and the speed brake switch stays armed.
December 5, 20241 yr Author Hi guys Many thanks for the responses. I had already ensured that the switch that I set to arm the spoiler did not have 'repeat' enabled. Tried rlashier's suggestion - that did not cure the issue either. The problem still exists - bit may well be one of those that fenix will address in their next update - hopefully !!!. George Westwell

December 5, 20241 yr I just set toggle speedbrake on my Hotas Wart-Hogg, and have had no issue since launch. AMD Ryzen 7800x3d 64gb DDR5, Sapphire 7900 GPU MSSI Tomahawk AM5 M/Board. 1x 4tb Crucial M.2 SSD, 3x 2tb Crucial M.2 SSD's
December 5, 20241 yr Strange that you would see the Red error on the ecam without seeing the actual speedbrake handle or the speedbrakes themselves animated. Sounds like a bug between the aircraft and the sim to me. Did this error start out of the blue? Was it working ok before? December 5, 20241 yr I've been getting the exact same issue. I'm pretty sure it is some kind of conflict, I delete every single function from my Thrustmaster TCQ and my speedbrake still is under my control even though it shouldn't be. I can't find the software that's controlling it. I've deleted every bind I can find. Good news is the problem seems to be non existent in FS2024 for me. Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com
December 6, 20241 yr Author I have button 13 on my Thrustmaster Hotas Throttle mapped to Toggle Arm Spoiler, exactly as I had it in MSFS 2020, where it worked perfectly. Now, as I have already mentioned, when I use button 13 (repeat turned off), I see the animation of the speedbrake arm it self, and then within a split second it returns to its unarmed position, and the error message appears on the ECAM. I have tried many things, but so far I am unable to fix it. Thought it might be a bug, but Simselli says he does not have such a problem. George Westwell
December 6, 20241 yr By the looks of the thread it seems Thrustmaster devices might have a little bug in MSFS or the Fenix Edited December 6, 20241 yr by laserit Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com
