Just Flight Avro RJ update adding MSFS 2024 support out

It’s a great aircraft and Summit Airlines still flies it to some really interesting places in the Canadian north including some remote diamond mines.

There’s also a Business Express livery which I believe flew Delta connection flights?

This (and the Bae146) is currently my favorite. Since the Bae 146 was already my favorite before, this takes the cake! Is that the saying.

I really don't care what real routes they used. I pick whatever livery and cockpit textures and go flying. Better performance, more workload, great looks... its like when digital meets analog with 4 engines. I fly it more than I ever did some other "ahem" well-known developer's planes. They keep it updated properly (as you can see), don't give lengthy excuses and just fix it.

Just Flight, I'd say is one of the top...if not THE top developers for both sims. Includes Black Square.

Start up procedures is not as bad as it sounds.

And since its considered basically a stol aircraft, I take it everywhere in places like Alaska. Dutch Harbor anyone?

Just Flight seem to be getting better with each release and this one is a triumph in my opinion

I love having to do "more" stuff in a sim since it's sort of the point. Like when flight sim people get flustered over not having VNAV or AT. I guess I could understand that if it's not being modeled in a plane that does in real world but meh. Its more fun this way.

Though, my second flight....I couldn't get anything to start up. Oi.

For me also one of the most fun aircraft. Like with lot of workload / but now with the RJ also a LNAV.

Love my mini 747!

It's probably me but I have big issues with it now in MS2024. Black screens primarily.

Just flight has a known issues page for 2024 with the RJ, generally if you have issues it’s recommended to load the aircraft in the sim first, then restart the sim to ensure everything initializes properly.  This is per each variant, and only the first time you load it in the sim (or after the aircraft is updated).

No. This is a different issue. As per the thread on their forum. No big deal. They'll work it out no doubt.

I'm bit by this as well.

Ditto me. Reading the tea leaves here I ended up deleting Navigraph and uninstalling/reinstalling RJ Pro.  Did not reinstall Navigraph and upon startup all three variants work as expected, I checked.  No problems except it of date Navigraph database.  So far so good and I can fly while waiting for Navigraph/JustFlight to sort this out.

Sorted it here as well, thanks. I would never have found that lol.

I got bit too by a bunch of WASM issue with the gauges. First I got bit by the one where first load the engine displays don't light up. Reloaded. Then halfway through a flight all the engine displays started blinking, and then went out.

I am going to try a full restart after this flight. I did the reinstall for the Navigraph fix. I actually had better luck getting the old version to work on 24.

Edit: someone is having the same issue in 2020 so I think the update is weird.

The BAE 146 is the first plane that got me interested in airliners.

Before that I was all GA, for the simple reason that I had no idea what all those buttons I was pushing actually did.

There is great great video by Jonathan Beckett for starting the BAE 146 and its basically the same for the Avro.

I know some people dislike him, but this one is good.

The reason is he explains why and what every button does to start the plane. Not just click here and there. Why you do certain things first or second.

Anyway, if some of you are like I was, its only a 30 minute video and well worth it and the principle is good for most airliners actually.

Ok. PADU (Dutch Harbor) was an interesting landing I will just say. Kind of a short runway, mountains all around, fog and typically Bering weather (foggy mess). Thankfully my 8 or so practice runs in PAJN and KPDX helped. London City is also interesting. PADU is not a steep approach by getting that steep approach just right in EGLC is a feat.

J.Becket is great.

Why? They are kind, not condescending and gets mostly to the point. He goes from start to finish, regardless of hiccups. Which I appreciate.  Avangel, IntoTheBlue, BritishAvGeek...there are a ton of them that are great. There are only a few that downright awful, condescending and straight up rude. I have used Jonathan's channel several times. Long time subscriber. Plus, he has a good "radio" voice.

RJ is fun. Never had this much fun in a STOL airliner like this before. Actually in any plane for a long while. Currently been doing "milk runs" from PADU-PANC-PAWG-PAJN-KSEA and like a goofball I am going to McNary (Salem, OR) because I want to.

Actually, you know what? It's the holidays. These are not milk runs any more!

These are called Beer runs from now. (No, not getting the "runs" after having too much beer, just to clarify.) 😁
