Stutters in 2020 since 2024 release

Featured Replies

I've never really suffered with stutters in 2020, but since 2024 release I'm getting them more and more (especially just as I touchdown which is super annoying).

Is this a known issue or anything I can do? I've not changed anything in 2020 at all.

AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo

32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card

I have not noticed any changes. What I do notice though that the small stutter when you touch down, that has always been there in MSFS and is caused by the flight model switching to ground model, does not exist in MS2024. Which made it more noticeable to me.

I haven't noticed anything worse or better during flights in MSFS2020 since the 2024's release. Just the longer time the CHECKING FOR UPDATES spinning needs to continue loading the sim during start-up.

I get these large tiles that stutter while turning and looking out pilots window.  It seems like it's really cpu bound, even though I am showing red every half second and 31 ms.  I checked cpu usage and found some things were using it.  Also, turned all traffic to low from medium.  It kind of helped...  I think the only way out is to upgrade.  My computer is only 4 years old too.

I have never noticed any stutters when touching down in MSFS 2020.

I had major stutters a week or so ago which prior to that was butter smooth. I decided to delete my rolling cache and poof, stutters gone. Not sure if anything changed with the bing maps since the 2024 release which may have caused problems with any “older” data on the rolling cache.
