He's right. The rotor inertia is too powerful.

That's one of the quirks, inherited from the "pseudo-rotary" FM of FSX... Unfortunately they still have a bit to fine tune to reach, for instance, the level of the rotary flight dynamics in X-Plane, but I have noticed some improvements from FS 2020.

The default 407, though, is a total disaster / arcade in as far as helicopter flight dynamics can go 😕

I am afraid the 407 was like that in the 2020 edition too.. there was a nice mod that helped making it behave a bit better, hopefully we'll see it on 2024 as well.

Hey!!!!!! Is this ya PASTA ? Where have ya been ???? You, Tony, ...

Are you in FS 2024 too ? Or still with XP12 too ?

Regarding the rotary flight dynamics in FS 2024, let's hope for additional tunning with future FM updates !

I tried the Cabri G2 (which was pretty well behaved in 2020) and it is just all over the place.  I'm far from an expert helo pilot but everything just feels off.  Instead of ground effect, I get sucked to the ground much faster a few feet off the ground (just at an airport, avoiding the platform bug).  Not sure if the sim is modeling VRS and I'm just flying it wrong?  I'm not even close to getting any kind of taxi hover.

Most of my payware helicopters are stuck disabled in the marketplace for now.  I had the Cowansim MD500 off Orbx and I got that installed, and that feels much more familiar.

My home made collective is out for now until I fix it, wanted to try the R66

Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

Have anyone tried the 'quick trim' setting on the H125 which was done to try and overcome the issue of no trim capability on the H125? It seems only to work for hover and not any other mode of flight!

System 1: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @ 4.2GHz, 2x16GB DDR4 2600MHz CL18 RAM, EVGA RTX 3090 FTW, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 512GB, Seagate 2TB HDD, Windows 11 Pro 64bit, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog.

System 2: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.7GHz, 2 x 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 RAM, ASUS ROG ASTRAL RTX5090 OC, 2 x 4TB Lexar NM790 M.2 PCIe 4.0, Crucial T705 2TB Gen5 M.2, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Moza AB9 with Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Flight Stick, Winwing Orion Rudder Pedals, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Throttle Quadrant.

It seems to work for me (hold, re-position collective, release) during flight.

But I really dislike the FM of the H125, seems to twitch all by itself (granted my controller potentiometers are not fantastic, but all other helis are predictable). It's beyond me how the H125 can need both left and right AT pedal inputs on lift-off (into a headwind).

R66 seems to be the pick of the bunch.

"It flies like a submarine" a RW pilot once said on his YT channel.

Have you tried Simfocus 407 mod? It makes the default a lot more realistic.

Cowan R66? It's a joy to fly! 2024's R66 isn't bad at all.

Agree the H125 is very twitchy. Hmmm, in my case if I do the quick trim and then release the stick it goes straight back to high pitch up and banking. Will check if I have done something wrong.

I find the G2 much more enjoyable as you can actual trim it as required for phase of flight.

Well does not seem to work for me. Quick trim does not align it with my flight cyclic position, it seems random as can be seen (trim marked by x)! Reset trim does centre the trim however. Not sure what's going on. Flight assists are off. Hopefully Asobo will find a better solution for the H125.

Ironically the ONLY TWO products in MSFS 2024 I was really looking forward to was the H125 and the PC-24. Hoo boy.

😂

Anyone notice helicopters flying a little better since the update?  I figured out some of my Cabri problems.  Turns out the wonderful control system didn't save my sensitivity settings for one of my axis.  Now that I've got my sensitivity way down properly, it is better.  Still there's this weird left pull when almost touching the ground.  I am in a relatively stable hover with a little bit of right skid low to counter that, but as I get to the ground the thing just darts left.  It is like the ground effect just shoves the thing away.

Hopefully payware helis get made available soon.
