December 18, 20241 yr Author Thanks for all your help. I bought this sim to fly, not walk around. December 18, 20241 yr I've posted here several times about this identical problem. I have tried everything suggested here and it does not resolve the problem. Sometimes, on some aircraft, I click on the engine cover and a cockpit door opens. Most of the time everything works fine, other times nothing will allow me to remove the engine covers. But - I can always fix the problem by "end flight" and then restarting the identical flight/aircraft/location and can then click on the cover to remove it. As you say - I bought the product to fly not to troubleshoot strange little problems. I have been a full time professional computer person (systems, applications, hardware, management) since 1969 and find MSFS 2024 to be one of the least user friendly pieces of software I have used, as far as trouble shooting and setup goes. When it works, about 95% of the time, the sim is wonderful and I greatly enjoy it, but the other 5% of the time makes me wonder what I bought for $129. December 18, 20241 yr Author I agree. I have been using every edition of MSFS and many more since 1982. This sim and the 2020 version for us VA tubeliners have been frustrating. I guess I will go back to using P3D V5.4 to fly my passenger flights for my VA. I just completed a flight from KATL to KMIA with basically no problems except ATC to give me a TOD. December 18, 20241 yr I have never seen engine covers on a commercial airliner in any airport I have been in, unless it was parked outside a maintenance hangar. Strange.

Strange. I agree. The developers are so out of touch with the real world.
