  • So, there is news. A user reported on the Aerosoft forum that Windows 25H2 fixed the problem for him. Waiting for more reports, but I might be updating my installation a little quicker than usual!

    That is exactly what they want, that we buy the next crappy product. I think we have to hope and wait for the next W11 update.

  • Apparently a new dev build for windows fixes this issue so hopefully we can all soon update without worry to lose the Aerosoft busses! 🤩 (see below excerpt from Aerosoft forum) I basically joined

Brand new Jetline computer.  STILL TDS planes have half wings.

I basically joined the Windows Insider program so I could have access to the dev version. In this case I'm using build 27774, and apparently they fixed the XML error, but there is no forecast for it to become Stable.

Is there any news on whether this fix will eventually find it's way into the regular updates?

Best regards, Dimitrios

No news what I have seen... still using 23H2 but will eventually have to upgrade 24H2... I hope maybe the next windows iteration (if there is one soon enough) is a better one!

Pushing flights with the Airbus. Not difficult, flying PMDG's and Majestic's excellent offerings instead. But I do hope I will be able to use the Airbus again later this year...

No issues using the Aerosoft Pro Axxx series in P3Dv5.3 / W24H2.

I hate to "keep beating a dead horse", as they say, but I'm still unable to get a TDS 737-800 plane to have a full set of wings after Microsoft's window update.

Question:  Will any of you with Windows 24H2 on your system do me a favor and download a TDS model from Simviation or somewhere, and let me know if your wings are intact?  I'm trying to diagnose this issue.  I'm sure that others are successful and I have a brand new installation of P3dv5 on a brand new computer, and I'm still not successful.  I really want to fly these planes but I still can't overcome this issue.

Hate to be a pest on this.

Hiroshi had to release a fix for all his model files, so that their wings wouldn't disappear in 24H2. I understand these files are available at TDS' Facebook page.

Hi - I put the following on the Aerosoft forum today...

Dear Aerosoft,

I recently did a complete  reinstall of Windows 11 Pro (24H2) and Prepar3D v5.3 after doing a hard format of both of both my C-drive (SSD) and my dedicated FS-drive (SSD).

Having experienced immediate Aerosoft  A3xx Pro series CTD’s after Microsoft had released their 24H2 update (never an issue with 23H2) in combination with Prepar3D v5.4

For this reason I decided to “downgrade” back to P3D v.5.3 as I had read from various sources that with v5.3 no CTD’s occur when using Aerosoft’s A3xx Pro series.

For the past 10 days this proved to be the solution until suddenly all the Aerosoft A3xx Pro series aircraft disappeared   from the P3D add-on library.
 At the same time, I was suddenly confronted  during the start-up of P3D with menu if I wanted to re-activate several ORBX products that had been saved to my ORBX Library. The latter, however, remained visible in the P3D add-on library and functioned after re-activation.  This situation, however, appears each time I start P3D.
The Aerosoft A3xx Pro series, however, is nowhere to be found in the P3D add-on library.

Based on the above, I can only conclude that the Microsoft Windows 24H2 is having an effect on the XML-file links of certain products i.e. both Aerosoft Airbus aircraft and ORBX.

 I had always installed the Aerosoft Airbus xxx Pro series outside the main P3D directory but on the same drive as I also did with the ORBX library.

Regretfully, I am not able to use my favourite Aerosoft Airbus Axxx Pro series anymore at this stage and I do hope that Aerosoft will at least make an effort to seriously investigate together with Microsoft, ORBX and Lockheed Martin Prepar3D as to what is causing this unfortunate issue.
 Many of us have invested considerably in Aerosoft products and the least that can be done is look into the issue as a service on behalf of its loyal customer base.

Thank you for your possible consideration!
Herman

Additional info:
My dedicated drive for FS activities is a Samsung 4TB SSD with the following main directories:

AEROSOFT ( for the Airbus 3xx Pro series) – in tact BUT not suddenly appearing in the P3D add-on library. Concerns the A318, 319, 320, 321 and A330 series aircraft (all engine types);

FLTSIM (Prepar3D v5.3 and sub-directories) – no issues encountered thus far;

FSGUN2020 (Pilot’s global mesh product) – no issues encountered thus far;

ORBX LIBRARY (a few product contents that cannot be installed in the main P3D directory).

NOTE: The last Microsoft Update performed on the 3rd September last was:

I have updated to 25H2 and it has NOT solved the problem for me. Still have CTD. Let’s hope it’d just me…

Unfortunately, in the Aerosoft forum there is another report that 25H2 didn't solve the problem. Frustrating.
