The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Anything to get one up on cats.

Ok, that's really cool.  Especially the reason they did it: to promote adoption of shelter dogs. Thanks for posting this.

My visually impaired wife would love this.  It's a whole new take on seeing eye dogs. 😄 She can't wait for true self driving cars.

I've seen occasional videos of dogs and cats driving toy cars, so I guess it's possible for them to learn the basic skills.  Not sure if I'd be comfortable releasing them out into the wilds of the road system.  Would they be more or less safe than the average human?

Most likely safer as they wouldn't be using their cellphone!

Nah, they are driving a Mini with a specially modified righthand drive. Speed limited to pedestrian walking speed.

^ misinformation. The trainer is not giving treats to the dog and telling him which way to turn. The trainer is giving the treats to the human copilot.

Garfield is content to let his two gullible servants drive him where he wants to go.

Oh don't you worry, on the planet Felineious 3, the cat home world,  they teach driving to mere kittens.
