So...been in town all day looking for 3D-glasses after reading this thread last night and finally I got the glasses...wasn't easy but got two pairs and also the Shrek and Shrek 2 movies in 3D format in the package...even though it was only the glasses I wanted ;) On the other hand the glasses are the most cheap version made of paper but figured they are good enough just to try this out and I haven't installed the stereo drivers yet but looked at the 3D images posted in this thread and WOW this is cool!!!Now I figured I'll start installing the Nvidia drivers and then maybe I get the other drivers for $5, can someone who tried both tell me what the main benefit is with the pay version drivers? Also have another question, never understood if you need to run FSX in full screen for this 3D stuff to work or could you also run FSX in windowed mode?Looking forward to a very 3D-virtual evening here in Stockholm :) !!

Just installed the Nvidia stereo drivers but I don't get any 3D effect at all but guess I do something wrong? Another thing...when I installed the drivers a screen where you was told you should see two squares appeared but I couldn't see any of them...however I can see the 3D effects just fine in the screenshots posted in this thread as I mentioned above. What do you need to do in the Nvidia stereo drivers to kick-off the 3D effect? If I can't have this work I guess I'll try the other drivers mentioned here.

Are you Nvidia normal drivers and stereo drivers exactly the same version number?

Hi Victor,No they are not and I read they must be but when I checked Nvidia's site the latest 'normal' driver I could find for my 8800 GT card was 169.25 which is the driver I'm already using where the stereo driver I downloaded and installed is 174.76...hmm...?Will have another look over at Nvidia's and see what I can find, maybe I missed something. But again, do you need to do anything special in the stereo driver to kick-off the 3D effect...create a game profile for FSX or anything similar? Also, do you need to run FSX in full-screen mode for this to work?

You have to use the beta ones right now...Also-I found the betas can't remember my monitor size and I had to manually ctrl whatever it was to reduce the size to get the 3d effect.I'd recommend paying the $5 for the ddd drivers-they are ready to go, and you don't have to change your main driver.http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

OK, thanks!Just found the beta driver v 174.74 (but still not a 100% match with the stereo driver which is 174.76) but will give it a try and then I will probably end up with the DDD driver.

please report... Do the DDD drivers work with lcd displays... regular ones. Do it mess up the colours? does the beta .74 work with the .76 stereo3d drivers?Do I even need the stereo3d drivers with the ddd drivers?

Works fine with my lcd display. The nvidia .74 works with the .76 but there are parts that don't work yet-and you will have to fuss. The DDD drivers just work-period-nothing extra needed. The DDD drivers also have a demo of their program that allows you to watch your videos and photos in 3d. Watch out-I had to buy that too once I saw how great that looked! :-lolhttp://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

I am experiencing jagged edges when using the 3D glasses and the DDD drivers, which I seem to be unable to adjust. It is noticable on the aircraft in Spot View. I have tried using nHancer and without nHancer. The DDD program has a "Display Setup" facility but keeps telling me that it cannot locate my Display and asks me to locate it in the DDD Control Panel. It appears fine in the DDD Control Panel but there is no real "adjustment" or Settings for AA or Anistropic.Any help appreciated.Other than jagged edges it is an amazing experience.Just flew Lord Howe Island, followed by FSDreamscape Oahu 30cm with 5m Mesh...awesome ! Oh yes... I too just had to buy the full package from DDD !

webmaximus, 3D works both in windowed and full screen. You may be getting jagged edges because of the extra processing power required to draw double images. Try changing to trillinear from anisotropic in fsx settings. If not try increasing antialiasing in nvidia control panel. These are the specs that I use. ot13jq.jpg

I haven't noticed any effect on the colors-I assume you can make corrections on your monitor/video driver anyway.Pete has some pretty cheap glasses mentioned above-if you google anaglyph glasses you can find cardboard for .17 and clip ons for about $9-here is a site for instance:http://www.3dglassesdirect.com/plastic_ana...3d_glasses.htmlhttp://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

how about performance impact is there any?

If you get performance issues then turn off 3D clouds as the 2D clouds now become 3D anyway. Also turn water effects to lowest setting. Those 2 more or less make up for the frame hit. DDD driver is more frame friendly on my machine cos I can use it with the latest 8 series nVidia driver. WARNING: For anyone considering shutter LCD glasses with LCD monitors? Forget it, it is horrible. LCD monitors refresh rates are way too low. Shutter LCD glasses must only be used with CRT Monitors. Do not believe Edimensional. Anaglyph rules, and sooo cheap. Just get yourself a decent set of specs.
