3d experience now in vista-heads up...

For any DDD driver user that hasn't already noticed a new version has been released which seems to give much better AA in FSX than the previous version did :)

After buying the DDD driver, I've now switched to the IZ3D 1.07 driver, which seems to give much better 3d effect when finally set up and very good on the frame rates. Also, a good set of lenses makes all the difference. I bought some clipons from Berezin's, but found a wrap-around style in the local thrift store and I think the lighter cyan color and better lense ehlps with this driver. It's been a blast flying low through the mountains adjacent to CYVR tonight and I'll post some shots in the screenshot forum sometime soon. Here's taste of what the Lear cockpit looks like though. You can almsot reach out and touch the yoke - much better realtime!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/188038.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/188037.jpgRegards, Kendall#1: [email protected]/Coolermaster HyperTX2 Gigabyte P35-DS3L 4GB Ballistix Tracers PC6400 EVGA 8800GT - 174.74 beta Seagate 250GB 7200.11 CH Yoke/Pedals/Saitek Throttle Dual Monitor: Dell 2405/1905 #2: Dell 8400 3.2 H.T. 3GB PC4200 - X800XT Diamond Xtreme/Logitech X-530's

At the moment I'm using the Nvidia drivers because the DDD drivers just destroy my frame rates. Also, I've tried adjusting the colour settings but I just can't get red or brown showing well. Oh well, you can't have everything!

The 3d drivers will cut your fps by up to 50% (drawing two images).I'd suggest setting a flight up where the 3d will do the most for you and the fps. the highest e.g. Any of Gottfried's mountain sceneries (Sierra Nevada, Rocky Mountains etc.). I get over 100's with this scenery-with 3d 40-50's and in the mountains, this is where the 3d experience shines anyway...http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Actually, I run with my normal FSX settings and don't get a hit until I am over a bigger city, then if I drop autogen back to dense and cut traffic it's fine - don't know if this is typical for most or not, but I definately agree - the mountains are the place to be. :) Is anybody able to get AA/AF working with any of these drivers? I was wondering if that might explain the difference between the performance, but I can't get it working with either set. Also, the 1.08 IZ3D driver is a beta and is much worse on frames than it's predecessor and you'll need to do a simple mod to the config file to use them with analglyph. Another plus is you seem to be able to customize your 3d settings much further than with the Tri-Def's.Regards, Kendall#1: [email protected]/Coolermaster HyperTX2 Gigabyte P35-DS3L 4GB Ballistix Tracers PC6400 EVGA 8800GT - 174.74 beta Seagate 250GB 7200.11 CH Yoke/Pedals/Saitek Throttle Dual Monitor: Dell 2405/1905 #2: Dell 8400 3.2 H.T. 3GB PC4200 - X800XT Diamond Xtreme/Logitech X-530's

I'm sure it's a good driver but, for me, the Nvidia set are better. The only problem I have is that 3d must be enabled at start up as, if I press CNTRL+T in game my system crashes. This problem has been noted by others on the Nvidia forums.

I think anaglyph is great but it's a pity that some areas of the world are rendered virtually unflyable - deserts are made green grasslands for example due to the red colour degradation.

>Considering the complaints about the fsx desert this might be>a good thing! :-lol>Yes, very good! >Seriously though-I haven't seen this, or the "grey" that>others have mentioned. Perhaps our individual reactions to>red/green filters?Could be. It's a pity there isn't any way to "tune" the 3d to suit individual viewers (I've tried using the Nvidia "colour correction" and my monitor's colour adjustment and neither do much good.

I agreee it would be a great thing if you in some way could adjust the red/cyan colors in the 3D picture. I've been using a cheap pair of paper Anaglyph glasses while waiting for a pair of "real" glasses I ordered from an online store but fact is that when the "real" glasses arrived it shows that the cheap paper glasses gives me a better image with less "ghosts" in the image. This problem also got bigger with the release of the new version of the DDD drivers - AA in FSX is now much better not to say perfect but instead I see more "ghosts" when using the real glasses than I did before...especially if in a complex virtual cockpit with lots of switches and buttons.I compared the paper glasses to the real ones and the only difference I could spot is that the red lens on the paper glasses is a bit darker/has a deeper red color than the red lens on the real glasses. And since buying the first "real" pair of glasses I also bought another pair of a different brand from another online store but problem is the same so it's almost a bit comical that my very cheap paper glasses I got with a 3D DVD movie for free (actually got two pairs in the box :-)) are still producing the best 3D image! So...for this reason it would be great if you in some way could adjust the red color to compensate for the difference in red colors between the glasses so I could use my "real" glasses instead and have some use for the money I spent on them.

On a side note, does anybody else find that they see no 3d at all with the Nvidia "medical test" but find that they see 3d perfectly well with the "Test application " and also "in game"?

I remember experiencing that when I first tried the Nvidia drivers before switching over to the DDD drivers and I also remember the 3D effect in FSX wasn't constant but in some way switched by itself between 2D and 3D and that was the reason I tried the DDD drivers instead and must say overall I'm very happy with the DDD drivers and especially now with the new version that fixed AA in FSX.

What we do need is stereo drivers for the 8800 Nvidia cards and FS9.Although some of the latest drivers say they are for XP they only work with Vista.

>So...for this reason it would be great if you in some way>could adjust the red color to compensate for the difference in>red colors between the glasses so I could use my "real">glasses instead and have some use for the money I spent on>them. You can try adjusting the colors on your monitor settings. It will change the balance and helps with the ghosting. Otherwise you might be able to set up a profile in your display control panel, too. Still having the best performance and 3d IQ with the IZ3d drivers.Regards, Kendall#1: [email protected]/Coolermaster HyperTX2 Gigabyte P35-DS3L 4GB Ballistix Tracers PC6400 EVGA 8800GT - 174.74 beta Seagate 250GB 7200.11 CH Yoke/Pedals/Saitek Throttle Dual Monitor: Dell 2405/1905 #2: Dell 8400 3.2 H.T. 3GB PC4200 - X800XT Diamond Xtreme/Logitech X-530's

Tried adjusting the monitor settings but that didn't really help much I'm afraid. The other drivers you mention, where do you get those drivers and are they free or payware like the DDD drivers? And also, are they only for FSX or for any DirectX game?
