The Eyecessories glasses have optically balanced red and green (anaglyph) lenses. That way, the colours you see in the sim are the "truest". Not all anaglyph lenses are equal, so with the Eyecessories, you are getting the best balance that I have seen.Running anaglyph drivers on your computer will give you a significant frame rate hit. You are asking your video card to come up with simultaneous red and green passes for each frame. It's something like turning on bloom, except even more so. Generally, NVidia has been kind of pokey coming up with anaglyph drivers, usually you have to roll back your driver number a version or two to make it work. When I upgraded my video card, I lost the ability to use 3D, or so I thought. It sounds good that they've got Vista drivers up, though! In the coming couple of years, the big Hollywood movie studios expect to release and re-release several blockbuster films in 3D. Advances in projector technology have allowed the use of polarized stereoscopic imagery. To see the images in 3D, you wear what are essentially weak sunglasses with one lens turned around to create differential polarizations. The advantage over anaglyph is that you see true colours. However, polarization only works (as far as I know) on large projection screens, it's not so great for monitors right now. By the way, there is a cheap "trick" to simulate 3D on any TV or monitor. All you do is hold your hands flat in front of your face, one palm facing you and one palm facing away. Hold both hands so that one set of fingers points horizontally right and the other to the left. Stick both thumbs straight out ninety degrees. One thumb should point straight up and the other straight down. Now arrange your hands so that the thumbs touch the tips of your index fingers. You will see a frame between your hands. Sometimes, you see film directors do this with their hands to "frame" a shot. Now hold this frame so that it blocks out your view of the plastic that surrounds your TV screen. Hold your hands far enough away that they are not blurred in your vision. When looking through the frame, the TV images will appear kind of 3D. This seems to work best with sports broadcasts, as there are not many close-ups. I still run fsx on XP so this driver is perfect. Also fine with vista. And yes you do require a fast machine / video card to run in anaglyph mode. Has anybody used this with a Matrox TH2GO and LCD monitors?

For me it is not working in Vista 64, I can run the test application but in FS9 I see only a small 3D band in the down corner of the cockpit so I think there is a bug or my system can't handle it. Earlier versions viewed well in XP but was very unstable. I also have ordered the Vipers a couple of months ago.I found out that lights are a issue within 3D/MSFS.In my earlier experience I saw the PAPI light double and could't fix it. EDITHave ordered also the DDD 3D drivers for $ 4,99 and it works directly under my Vista64.I only have to solve the AA because it is not working well with Nhancer and my system is not powerful enough. I am stick with 8 to 12 FPS with a lot of aliasing and shimmerI was wondering what a dual GPU like the new ATI or Nvidia will do because the scene has to be rendered twice now...Maybe one of you of the lucky folks with a dual GPU can give the answer.Happy Landings...

You've really opened up a can of worms.I had just finished getting FS9 to run beautifully when I read your post. You made me curious enough to install NVidia stereo drivers for Windows XP. The results running FS9 under XP were mixed.Just for kicks, I installed FSX (for about the eighth time) on my Vista partition and ran it with the newly-released Nvidia stereo drivers.Long story short: I don't know how I can go back to 2D again, or FS9 for that matter. I'm not running a powerful machine, but I can manage 20 FPS in glorious steroscopic 3D. Throw Tileproxy into the mix, and it's just incredible. Firing it for the first time in 3D gave me the same rush I got when I took my first introductory flight a few years ago.Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. You've not only swayed me to switch to 3D, but to Vista and FSX too.

To add to the depth and realism / immersive effect may I suggest an F550 lens from here.. http://www.3dlens.com/shop/largefresnellens.phpThis lens will extend your focus out to infinity and increase largely the perceived size of your monitor. Amazing when coupled with a stereoscopic image.

Can anyone advise if it is possible to buy 3D glasses that clip on to, or can be worn with, standard spectacles?Old man's eyes don't you know. :-)
