btw, isn't having one forum for both 2020 and 2024 a bad idea in the first place ?... I do think so myself  (shrug

You're new aren't you?

😉

Such talk is not permitted here so I'd not pursue the subject IIWY.

I've used FSUIPC since FS9 for complex aircraft like the PMDG 738. I barely scratch the surface and mainly use it to assign MCP functions like ALT, HDG, SPD, etc. to joystick/throttle buttons, and adjust the repeat rate so it's just right.

I recently setup the FSL A321 FCU the same way. The profile feature on button assignment is neat as you can asssign the same buttons to Boeing/Airbus and it selects the profile automatically so the right controls are sent to the aircraft.

Don't get me wrong. I used FSUIPC a LONG time. FS9, FSX, P3D all versions. And used it more than just assignments. So, I would say I do know what I am doing, not claiming to know everything though. I was searching yesterday for hours, read forums, tried different combinations. The issue is that, as soon as I go over Calibration-Facility, because I have to reverse the axis, only 50-100% is read. No matter which path. I've read something about setting -1 in the config, however, I dislike doing such simple things via config-file. These have to work in the interface. I have also used FSUIPC extensively with all PMDG and FSL aircraft, but Fenix now is for the first time.

If SPAD.next works without issues, I also prefer the interface more to FSUIPC (which isn't hard, honestly), I will buy it.

I’m interested in this topic as well. My main concern at this moment is that I have a VRInsight Boeing 2 panel I’d like to use. Which piece of add on software will allow me to use it for different aircraft? Eventually I’ll switch to WinWing when they have more options.

I highly recommend using any external application, that you prefer, for setting up and maintaining your control setups.  This is great insurance for when the sim decides to modify or wipe out any configs in the sim itself.

Spad, no need for two or three apps running! Controls Midi, Streamdeck, Winwing and much more!

FSUIPC till the day I die. My first job with a new sim is to rid the sim of it's stranglehold. Then assign everything to FSUIPC. Job done. There is a learning curve to contend with but it soon becomes clear.

Well yeah, but what good is it, if it's not working with Fenix...?

Anyway... SPAD.next seems to work great. The configurability of SPAD is great, I very much like it.

But... it crashed my sim right now. After 30min of preparations and takeoff. I was merely setting up other profiles. Maybe that was a mistake.

I used both FSUIPC and SPAD.Next (SPAD.Next mainly to get my Saitek multi-panel working due to the lack of drivers at the time). For MSFS 2024 I decided to move over to SPAD exclusively as there are some things I could not figure out with FSUIPC.

Fenix? What's a Fenix?

Yeah, but what good is it if it crashes your sim? 😁

Don't get excited, just joshin' with you.

All good. Anyway... flying with SPAD now, seems to work great. Decided to leave FSUIPC for younger and more beautiful.😄
