January 8, 20251 yr Until now, I was pretty satisfied with the internal control system of MSFS. It works. But, I found myself needing a different throttle setup for two different aircraft, because my TQ is two-axis, and some aircraft do have different ways they handle 4 throttles for instance. So I tried making different profiles for different aircraft, however, all attempts failed, although according to videos I watched, should work. Anyway... from days of FSX, I was almost exclusively using FSUIPC, with a default profile, and specific profiles for some aircraft. Was working great. Not sure if that is even still possible, but I have FSUIPC 7. What would you recommend?
January 8, 20251 yr I use fsuipc7 After a few years off I wasn't keen to learn it again but its very easy really. I use default setup with the addon aircraft manager to assign custom profiles in the sim and anything complicated gets sent to fsuipc. In ye olden days fsuipc wanted you to delete all sim controls and take over but you can use it in tandem in msfs no issues. Was great for getting pmdg lights assigned to switches or bizarre axis working with some free addons. Russell Gough SE London

I tried all of them, but I found the FSUIPC to be much easier and more intuitive to set up without any complicated steps or scripts. Moreover, because I have a throttle quadrant with axis reversers, assigning the reverser axis levers to be modulated correctly is very easy, with no need to write a script. Just assign it to those levers, and that's it. That's what made this process (customer-friendly) so easy in choosing which one. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

I have assigned everything with AAO, except the camera views which are similar for all aircraft (I do not mean saved views, mean the control of it) In AAO you can make different templates, e.g. 2 Mot Prop and assign it in a second if you load a new aircraft. Beside this I use it for controlling my StreamDecks and the WinWing EFIS and FCU (however for the displays, I use MobiFlight. AAO can't) Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I currently use AAO with Streamdeck. I’m reading that Mobiflight is the way to go with WinWing and it allows you to use their hardware without their SimAppPro software. Is that how you’re doing it? Any issues running AAO & Streamdeck together with Mobiflight? Lastly, is Mobiflight easy to setup? Thanks Eric
January 8, 20251 yr With WinWing there is no reason to use anything other than SimAppPro at least for the A3XX planes. It works perfectly in the background and you don't need to do anything it just works. This has been my experience with Fenix planes and the 2024 Airbuses. I have had the FCU for a couple months and added the EFIS just before Xmas. I pretty much only use 2024 now, so I can't speak for 2020. Will surely check it out. But... already own FSUIPC7, so most likely will stay with it, since it did serve me well in the past. I also use the iPad for the Airbus FMS, most likely won't be buying hardware, I am pretty content with my joystick and TQ from VKB (both did cost me about shy €1000), and yoke I would have to dust-off. So I guess it's time to get into configuring FSUIPC yet again. Edited January 8, 20251 yr by Simon_C
January 8, 20251 yr That's the problem with assigning two (for the time being quite different) flightsims, FS2020 and FS2024, to ONE forum. 177B's post is clear (thanks!) as for all others it can be either FS2020 or FS2024... At the moment that can be like freezing or melting... Does FSUIPC even work with FS2024 ?.... (btw, isn't having one forum for both 2020 and 2024 a bad idea in the first place ?... I do think so myself (shrug..) ) Edited January 8, 20251 yr by JanGerbr

Any issues running AAO & Streamdeck together with Mobiflight? Lastly, is Mobiflight easy to setup? Thanks No need for SimAppPro except firmware updates. I use some complete Mobiflight profiles from flightsim.to, mainly existing for Airbus. But for other planes, e.g. BKSQ TBM I have Mobiflight for the displays and AAO for the rest as it is easier for me. No issues running that all together. Once you fiddled a bit into Mobiflight it is relatively easy to use. Just assigning existing profiles is no problem. 2 hours ago, 177B said: With WinWing there is no reason to use anything other than SimAppPro at least for the A3XX planes But for all other addons 2 hours ago, JanGerbr said: as for all others it can be either FS2020 or FS2024. January 8, 20251 yr AAO is that rare thing: a solid product [the best choice IMHO] with almost instantaneous support. There is a forum here which gets nearly constant attention from the developer. Programming is as simple or as complex as you choose and very reliable. I have a complex rig with seven peripherals and Lorby's AAO has never let me down.
January 9, 20251 yr I'll be the lone voice advocating for SPAD.next. It lets me create profiles for different aircraft and it controls all of my peripherals including the WinWing FCU and EFiS. And most times, I don't even have to do the programming myself because there's a large library of user created snippets just a mouse click away. Odds are, if you're trying to set up some device to control a particular aircraft, someone has already done it and shared their work. But regardless of whether you go with SPAD, Axis & Ohs, FSIUPC or Mobiflight, I agree with the other posters who are saying that using an external control program is definitely the better way to go. January 9, 20251 yr Another satisfied SPAD.next user here... for example, when MSFS2024 came along, I simply made copies of my MSFS2020 profiles for aircraft that fly in both sims, renamed the profiles to msfs2024/<profile_names> which created a msfs2024 folder within SPAD.next profiles folder to keep everything separate. I also agree that going with an external program is the best way. 🙂
January 9, 20251 yr Author Well, I tried to configure Fenix with FSUIPC yesterday, just to be bitterly disappointed. In no way was I able to get it properly working. Installed SPAD.next yesterday. If I manage to get it working properly, then I will get it. According to some video I watched, I really like it. The price is, although relatively high, for what it delivers, IMO justified. Didn't have any more time yesterday.
January 9, 20251 yr I've used FSUIPC since FS9 for complex aircraft like the PMDG 738. I barely scratch the surface and mainly use it to assign MCP functions like ALT, HDG, SPD, etc. to joystick/throttle buttons, and adjust the repeat rate so it's just right. I recently setup the FSL A321 FCU the same way. The profile feature on button assignment is neat as you can asssign the same buttons to Boeing/Airbus and it selects the profile automatically so the right controls are sent to the aircraft.
