No sea traffic after SU1 Update Beta 2?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I can't see any sea traffic after the second beta update of SU1.

Anyone else?

Thank you

I see lots of sea traffic in Beta 2.

  • I am running SU1 beta 2, and have tried live traffic at all settings. There are no ships, and as Tuskin stated if the LODS for ships are that low that you can't see them unless you're on top of them t

Hi, again, I have sea traffic (well, a kind of, because it is static!), in Honk Kong, for example. But there are places without it. For instance, the harbour of Valencia. Not a single ship or boa

Will check, have it disabled anyway, as well as wild life 🙂

I do not see sea traffic. There are ships, but any of them are moving (I am happy about it because the "windmill" ships were awful). So I would not call them as a traffic. And most of the ships are not visible at all. All AIS name plates are shown, but the ships are not.

Does the object lod slider has any impact on distance visibility of the ships ?

Hi, YankeeMike01,

Perhaps it does...

But... where is the FS2024 user manual?

We learn how the simulator works through trial and error!

Greetings

Good shout!  Mine were popping up at quite close range last night around the Panama canal.  Not brilliant.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Somebody will make a guide and sell it on SimMarket for fifteen Euro probably.

I m asking because I did some tests and I think I saw some improvment but I m not sure it actually does 🥰

I should try again more thoroughly 🫣

How? I am not seeing sea traffic at all, except for small boats or sailboats. No ships anywhere, whether using live traffic or AI offline. In AI offline I get lots of static aircraft at all airports, which is great, but no ships on the waterways. Also, GAIST continues not to work with 2024, and I have tried it with each new beta update.

I would like to see Asobo at least provide static ships everywhere using the AI offline mode, at least until they sort out the live traffic movement of ship traffic.

Please?

If I fly with live weather and traffic I see hundreds of ships every where from pleasure craft to large ships.  I have even run a marine traffic app on my tablet to check and everything matches.

Never used to see traffic but I am running SU1 beta 2, so maybe that is the reason?  Have you checked your traffic settings in MSFS2024? Sometimes I see a label over the ship but not actually see the ship, so still a way to go with sea traffic.

Gaya's ship models have terrible LODs and most won't show up unless you're like 300-400 meters away.

I am running SU1 beta 2, and have tried live traffic at all settings. There are no ships, and as Tuskin stated if the LODS for ships are that low that you can't see them unless you're on top of them then that is about as useless as you can get. I have never used live weather, surely visible ship traffic isn't tied to having live weather enabled is it? That is beyond understanding, who decides these things?

I will turn live weather on along with live traffic and find out if ships show up. If they do, then Asobo really needs to fix that problem, for that makes no sense at all.

I was cruising at 2,00ft and saw ships on the surface below.  is the LOD different horizontal/vertical?  I did some circuits at Rochester in the UK and could see large ships moving on the Thames more than 400 metres away.  So frustrating when its not consistent between systems!
