Unfortunately, the latest NVIDIA products and drivers leave much to be desired. Many will probably be reluctant to try anything if everything works well.

 

Seems about the same as the last one here. No better, no worse. No issues though. Works well. 

If you use this new driver, it will remove DLSS 4, it will remove preset J (if you had those on when using the old driver).

Here is what DlssIndicator will indicate immediately after installing the new driver, at least that is what happened to me:

Note the preset is back to E instead of J like it used to be.

And the DLSS version is 3 instead of 3 point something something that was in reality DLSS4.

All that you have to do to restore the better settings is what you did to enable DLSS 4 and preset J before on the older display driver.

ALSO: The things that were grey out in the Nvidia App for msfs2024 are still greyed out like they were before on the older display driver.

 

 

Here is msfs2024 right before I installed the new Nvidia display driver. This dlss version was actually 4 and the preset was K

 

I actually have Preset: C now, after updating driver to this last one. I don't use the nvidia app, anybody now how to have preset K again?, because in nvidia inspector there's no more preset K. Thanks

This is actually DLLS 4 and Render Preset K.

So if you install the new driver, then run Ian's guide steps to restore DLSS 4 and Preset K.

This is with nvidia app. Do you now how to get preset K without installing nvidia app? thx

 Never mind, I found it in nvidia inspector under GLOBAL-DRIVER_PROFILE, DLSS - Forced Preset Letter.

Bottom line: installing 572.42 will remove DLSS 4 and preset K from MSFS 2024 (and I presume 2020 also). To reset to DLSS 4 and preset K, do as in this thread:

 

I am impressed with the new Nvidia display driver. Doing my test flight the fps number was posted in bright orange (by Riva Tuner). It stayed there and did not change for the whole (short) flight from EGLC to EGLL. Did not even change as I taxied down Heathrow runway to the gate after landing. I've never had that good of stability before. (This is the test flight I always do to check after making changes in settings or drivers).

Preset K turned out to offer little to nothing here, so I continue to use Preset C--and this is for both 2020 and 2024.

Now that you mention it, just tried both and ended up noticing that Preset C has a slightly better result with ghosting issue.

There you go.  I also use SecondaryScaling in 2020, set to 1.5, and that helps a little too.

Yeah tried it but it increases gpu vram a lot and I'm very limited there (just 12GB), but thanks for the tip.
