  • The latest nvidiaProfileInspector 2.4.0.11 (Beta) has options for all Profiles A-K as well "Always Use Latest".👍

  • In order not to have to go into the registry manually to make the changes to display the text at the bottom of msfs, I made two .reg files and stored them for easy access. I created them with notepad.

  • Unfortunately, the latest NVIDIA products and drivers leave much to be desired. Many will probably be reluctant to try anything if everything works well.

Yes, that was it, had to update NPI, forgot to tell the most important detail. Thanks for that man.

I actually have Preset: C now, after updating driver to this last one. I don't use the nvidia app, anybody now how to have preset K again?, because in nvidia inspector there's no more preset K. Thanks

This will show you how to set Preset K in nividia inspector. In the top message, he posted a big picture showing the 5 changes to bring on Preset K. (With some GPUs only 4 of the 5 will show up). Mine is a series 4000 which only shows 4.

If you don't see these in Inspector be sure to download this file and drop it in the Profile Inspector folder. Then you will.

But this file must be in your Profile Insector folder to see the options:

edit: you also have to make one change in the Nvidia APP, Ian showed that right in step 4 of his list.

Just upgraded to the latest driver. Rebooted and went back into the Nvidia App and selected the latest model for MSFS. Using DLSS 4 and preset K fine here.

Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

When I selected Latest. Nothing changed, no DLSS 4 nor preset K  was in 2024. I had to also make 4 changes using the profile inspector. Perhaps some people do not have to do those profile inspector changes, but I did.

In order not to have to go into the registry manually to make the changes to display the text at the bottom of msfs, I made two .reg files and stored them for easy access. I created them with notepad.

To turn the text on I just do one mouse click on a file called TextOn.reg which contains this text inside it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore]
"ShowDlssIndicator"=dword:00000400

And another one click file called TextOFF.reg which contains this text inside it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore]
"ShowDlssIndicator"=dword:00000000

Can we use Nvidia filters now with this new driver without the sim crashing?

Preset version does not interess me.

So is it that the filters fail? I struggled with 572.14 two weeks ago and returned to 566.42. Yesterday I installed a new driver. The simulator started up (2020), and then when exiting the flight it froze and no longer worked - it loaded and froze, and then I remembered that I was setting up filters...

You're probably not using MSFS 2024 then.

Yeh, I'm only in MSFS2020 at the moment. Won't be revisiting 2024 until it is no longer a sh1tfest in VR!

Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

I'm having a problem with this driver that it takes over a few minutes to close 2024 (or not at all) after pressing "quit to desktop".
Did a DDU to remove and re-installed 566.14, all normal again.
Did a DDU again to remove 566.14 and re-installed 572.42, same thing as before, MSFS 2024 doesn't end after quit to desktop is pressed (but the game isn't accessible anymore).
So i'm gonna DDU again and back to 566.14

Edit: same now happens with 566.14 so it ain't a driver issue...
