  • This happens a lot with 2020 and 2024.  I thought it was down to the fact that your settings were stored in the cloud rather than on your PC though I sometimes start up with a warning that my local se

Are you using steam or ms store? As far as I know this never happens with steam so it would be important if it was.  When you started was there a 'mandatory' update applied or no mention of an up

Oh boy i might be in the same boat.

I took some backup yesterday of this file and named them "high" and "ultra" and saved them on another drive.

Today after a first flight without issues i now have the MSFS all reset everything and want me to start from scratch

Was there a solution to this ?

Thanks Michael Moe

To my own investigation - it might not be a good idea to "allow"  backup or make profiles" of usercfg.opt.

I think i am back on track with a short delay( easy) at about 2 hours or a flight down 🙂

Thanks Michael Moe

(it all started when i tried different setup of grahics and had different setups for these)

It's quite simply poor game design to save mostly everything in the cloud and not locally, especially when these files are merely a few kb in size.

MSFS 2024 is asking me sometimes whether I want to use the latest local or the cloud settings (when I ran it on my 2nd PC in between). So your assertion is wrong.

I got the same issue this morning. Difficulties to load 2024. And then most settings were reseted. I'm thinking cloud issue.

Please show me where everything is saved locally, with ease of access to backup, thanks.
