Your Last session ended unexpectedtly
I get this message along with the option to start in safe or normal mode every time I start up even though the sim appears to shut down fine with no indication of any errors. Known bug? Im not running a Beta.

MSFS 2024 being used to teach private pilot students?
I know what I make of it

MSFS 2024 being used to teach private pilot students?
It's not, here in the UK CFI is a Chief Flying Instructor, a plain flying instructor is abbreviated to FI

This is really really getting old....Please read ASOBO!
Just a heads up, dont expect to reach Asobo by posting here, it would blow their cover as they pretend they never look at this place😁

reverted back to MSFS 2020
Ending a post on that note directed to someone you know has strong views opposing that thought seems very much like a taunt. Please resist the urge.

reverted back to MSFS 2020
Well I was a late and admittedly sceptical adopter of 2024, got it in April and have given it about 6 weeks where I only played 2024. Yesterday I went back and tried 2020 again. My return to 2020 will be lasting. though 2024 has improvements in lighting and the graphics are better at 200' and below ...and the clouds are sometimes superior everywhere else its no improvement and in some areas a step back. Ground features above 500' in the UK where I fly a lot are superior in 2020. The flight model?, well I fly the same type of aircraft IRL as I do in the game and whilst recognising differences between 2020 and 2024 I would class neither as realistic beyond their attempted adherence to performance figures, despite the claims of CFD. and improved ground handling. This is all simply my opinion. Please dont reply with lists of what Jorg or other people who make and sell have stated with intention that these statements provide equal unequivocal facts

Finally moving to 2024. What vendor and edition?
I suppose it depends what you mean by Running, it does run a few processes in the background like periodically checking for updates. Not really anything to get worked up about as far as resources are concerned, neither is steam. Choosing between versions based on this is rather silly given how small the processes are and how powerful todays PCs are, its a non-thing One thing is certain, Steam is far more stable and user friendly than the MS Store mess

Finally moving to 2024. What vendor and edition?
I have 2020 from Store but bought 2024 on steam, past experience of MS Store with 2020 is that its a pile of excrement, like many I've had problems with it and as for the rather ludicrous update processes within it....you can teach monkeys to code better than that Never had a single problem with steam

No more live weather thunderstorms?
They seem to change stuff all the time, sometimes I reckon they dump some feature due Bandwidth considerations so they can add some other feature. (and I'm not talking advertised changes, there are plenty of things messed with that they don't announce) To me its one of the big negatives of a streamed game, they can change the content whenever they desire...and they frequently do, it was evident with 2020 and continues. You can't know what you are going to get when buying because its always being changed.

A couple of bugs (2024)
How about the multiplayer world map visibility?, doesnt anyone else here fly with all players selected and remember how they would show on the map in 2020? edit... makes no difference what I assign parking brake to or even if I locate it n cockpit and click it still never works unless I ESC out and back in

A couple of bugs (2024)
First one might be a feature: I dont see any other players on the world map, a regression from 2020?, or a bug? Second one definately a bug, whenever I start in any plane and regardless of aircraft state the parking brake wont disengage untill I hit esc twice its surprisingly annoying does anyone else get that? (I'm on SU2 and havnt ever been in the Beta)

What's missing from MSFS 2024?
Talking about Ground features, as someone who mainly flys Bush and small rural airstrips I'd love the sim to be able to represent grass strips properly. Most any grass is represented by 6" - 1' high grass. IRL strip owners mow the strip. It would be a far greater improvement for most people than the rocks thing but seems like its another one of those things that is difficult to do so they just avoid the aspect. Regarding Rocks from a IRL perspective we always scout out a landing spot before committing (unless its an emergency of course but even then one tries as much as possible to pick the best spot) The poor representation of grass strips however is a pain as it often makes demarcation of the strip very vague, sometimes the area to the sides looks far more like the strip than the strip itself.

Majestic Dash 8 for MSFS?
What proof?, where is this proof? I honestly have no idea of the trends, I suspect the user base has gone down compared to 2020 first year but really dont know. Whatever, flight sim is a minnow in the pond of Gaming always has been always will be
