February 22, 20251 yr I mean everything. It forced me into a menu and wanted to set everything to ultra. I reset everything as well as I could remember, and then it stuck at step three with something about streaming data, and would go no further. What a major PIA.. I mean everything. February 22, 20251 yr Wow, that's frustrating sorry Bob. No way to escape out reboot and try again hoping it was just a glitch? Ugh, frustrating. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
February 22, 20251 yr Author I am going to start a flight now, and before I begin, I am taking a screen shot of all my settings, graphics, scenery, etc..It happens again, I can reset everything in a few minutes instead of an hour.
February 22, 20251 yr Author I found this guide, which helped me get my settings back to what I think they were before Asobo decided to wipe everything out today. At least it gave me a starting point. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/fs2020-graphics-settings-and-performance-guide-su12-update-7-26-2023/132407
February 23, 20251 yr I didn't get any prompts, but yesterday after a compulsory update I found all of my graphics settings changed and everything on ultra. Luckily my controller settings were not changed.
February 23, 20251 yr I got the same messages one time. But I can't remember if I chose Customize or Next. But at the end nothing much was altered. The controllers were on Default, but all the ones that I had created were there too and I just selected the ones I had been using and was back to normal. Not a big deal, it turned out. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 23, 20251 yr This happens a lot with 2020 and 2024. I thought it was down to the fact that your settings were stored in the cloud rather than on your PC though I sometimes start up with a warning that my local settings are newer than my cloud settings, so not really sure what's going on. I do find that controller settings can be retrieved, but graphics, sound and assistance settings are all gone, annoyingly. No application should ever be marketed that delete your settings just because it can't connect to the internet, whether it is due to a fault at your end or theirs. As far as I know this never happens with steam so it would be important if it was. When you started was there a 'mandatory' update applied or no mention of an update or extra download at all? February 23, 20251 yr Its changed a few of my settings again last week including my multiplayer options which it wouldnt let me change back until I opened some of my privacy setting in my XBox account. I hardly ever look in there and certainly never changed any settings in XBox, so did Microsoft change some privacy policies with no notification? TBH Microsoft and its whole XBox and cloud thing is beginning to pi55 me off

It started with an audio announcement like I had just installed the SIM and it needed to be set up.. Weird... The strangest thing is this pop up recommened I set everything to Ultra. With my PC, that would have resulted in a FPS of a round 5...LOL Edited February 23, 20251 yr by Bobsk8

Darn, just went in for a flight and its done this one to me also, all my graphics settings changed including enabling photogrammetry which I never use. I wish they would stop messing with users data
February 23, 20251 yr Ouch! Graphics and Assistance settings are a piece of cake to setup but controller settings is a big hassle. Fortunately in 4.5y it's only changed Assistance settings twice.
