JustFlight Avro RJ problems

Featured Replies

I decided to try again with the JustFlight Avro RJ70, but I just cannot stop this thing from bouncing up and down like a yo-yo on descent. The green banana is thoroughly enjoying the trampoline, but I am just getting frustrated. Granted it is not as easy to fly as the PMDG 737, but I really do not understand why it is pitching up and down all the time

Has anyone else suffered from this, and then worked out how to resolve it?

Christoper I am descending from 29000 to KLAX as I read your post and I type this reply.  I am not nor do I ever see the issue you are seeing. I use VS for Descent, never level change.  2100 FPM is my go to initial speed, adjusting to the green banana as needed.  If you haven’t yet give it a shot, it might help.  Good luck.

I was using VS for descent this time, but I suffered from exactly the same problem.

Maybe time to head over to the Just Flight 146 forum and ask over there.  You'll most likely get a reply from one of the devs.

Mine is a squirrel like you've describe on take off and landing. I have to get the AP on asap after breaking ground and leave it on till just about touching down. Other aircraft are okay.

If one adjusts the "reactivity" slider on the elevator axis in the controls section of the sim, the purpoising will go away. This aircraft is very sensitive than other aircrafts to joystick movement, and only the reactivity setting reduces this behavior. The reactivity slider essentially retards joystick output.

Thank you. Where would you suggest for a setting?

For the record, this is with the autopilot ON.

I am going to test the RJ85 to see if it happens with that variant.

I've come to appreciate the reactivity slider, especially for pitch behavior for all aircrafts. When flying IFR manually, I would always over control. This slider has practically made controlling pitch feel like a real airplane, that is go give a feel of inertia while moving the yoke.

C.Low is discussing this with AP on. Not sure if reactivity would help them here, in this instance.

C.Low. This is pretty strange. You have tried both LVLchange and VS? Still bouncing up/down? I think this happened before to me with a different plane, not the RJ (or anything from JF for that matter).

Unfortunately, I would honestly uninstall, reinstall and then when you want to load the plane, do it cold/dark and give it a few moments again before start up. Was the plane started on the runway with engines running? If so, this could be a reason.

I have tried it starting on the runway with engines running, and also from the parking spot in "ready to taxi" mode. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the plane, but it has not made any difference. Like I said, I will try the RJ85 to see if it suffers from the same problem as the RJ70.

The RJ85 suffers from the same "eternal bounce" as the RJ70 on my PC

EDIT: I have submitted a ticket on the JustFlight website.

I guess that I must be doing something wrong, but I will have to wait and see what the JustFlight guys suggest.
