Does anyone know if Asobo or whoever will basically ever fix the sim so I don't have to always use the Task Manager and force it to close. In 2025 I have to say I'm embarrassed for them with such idiocy.

No they are too busy trying to fix betasim24, but I feel your pain as it's beyond frustrating 

Get the beta. It is fixed in that.

It almost seems like a conspiracy. I mean, can any group of programmers actually be this stupid?

Hi Ron, from what I’ve read of betas in the past, I’ll pass. Seems like a lot of trouble. I’m not a daily user but when I do use it this annoys me. I have no other programs on my PC and especially my iMac where this has ever happened. Like I said, I’m literally embarrassed for them.

Must be system related as this was never a problem for me either in 2020 or 2024 other than a few odd occasions when I have been messing about with things.

Does this still happen when you empty your community folder, use without addons with stock CPU, GPU and RAM settings?

I've been using the 2020 beta for some months now and to be honest I'd forgotten it was in beta. Absolutely fraughtless. 2024 on the other hand is a different story

I'll bet a lot of what you've read has emanated from folk who can't resist a tinker, where they shouldn't have been tinkering. As I understand it a beta tester is someone who should just report an issue, not try to fix said issue.

at least LM would release hotfix's.  This nasty bug is what 3 months old, maybe more ?

I didn't try any of that, I just assumed that everyone using 2020 has this issue. And system relayed? Then why do no other programs do this? I'm not trying to be combative.

We're heading into the Microsof/Asobo twilight zone. doo doo doo doo 😮

I was hoping for SU16 to be released this week. If it's not released next week, I might give the beta a try.

oh i dont know, they could of slipped it into one of the last 3 navdata updates as a hotfix.  That would of meant working together on a zoom/teams call for an hour to fix and arrange it and we all know how much IT programmers love interacting with people on teams. 🙄

I just retired from a major airline as an A&P technician with avionics as my prime speciality. If I had done something like this to a plane I would be on the street. It's foolish and it simply makes me wonder how they can be so stupid to the point where I wonder if this wasn't deliberate.

They can’t release a hotfix to the retail version of the program when there is an ongoing beta for the same program. They tried that once before and it caused major issues for those who were in the beta when the beta became the release version because of conflicts in the version numbers. (A hotfix to address even one issue will cause the version number of the MSFS executable to change). Beta participants lost all their content and settings when the beta became the release version.

They might risk a hotfix to fix a truly game-breaking bug that was preventing anyone from using the sim, but the shutdown bug isn’t in that category.
