But as has been said a multitude of times, of course climate naturally changes, due to numerous natural causal factors.... but none of those factors are present now.

The sun has been around a long time.  It was still around last time I went outside and looked up.  I'm pretty sure it will still be around tomorrow morning.

Have a look from the other side:

https://www.youtube.com/@ClimateDN/videos

There are a couple of videos on global greening, and there's a large number of videos on sea level changes in various places. The one I found the most interesting is Juneau, Alaska where the sea level is actually falling. 😄  There may be others, I didn't watch them all, just a few dozen.

Don't try to watch everything, there are just too many.  But sample a few.

Tell the instigator. Read what I typed, as I said... "There's no need to go through all the same points again, surely. Let's stick to the study."

If you want my factual response to global greening and sea level rise then PM me. We've countered these myths more times than I've had hot dinners.

Lets stick to debating the study.

Oh!  You mean @G-RFRY ?   I didn't quote him because, well, frankly I don't understand his post.  But your post, I did understand.

The next big global catastrophe will be the eruption of the Yellowstone caldera.  It's quite a huge one.  Along with the famous geysers and boiling mudpots and hot springs it host's great trout fishing.  I've fished up there numerous times.

When it blows, and it will sometime, almost 3/4ths of the United States a large part of Canada will immediately be wiped out.   The rest of the planet will be plunged into atmospheric debris that will dim the sun and cause year round winter conditions for years.

When will it happen?  From what I have heard and read anywhere from tomorrow to 200,000 years from now.

At my age I'm not worrying about it.  If I were you I wouldn't worry about it either.  But I would recommend fishing the Firehole River if you ever happen by there.

You're fighting a losing battle with some folks.  I gave up.

People believe what they want to believe, and no matter how many facts or how much evidence you present to refute their beliefs, they will never concede anything.  It's like walking into a church, telling the congregation that their religion is based on a myth, and then proceeding to present your evidence.  They would refuse to listen to you, start yelling at you, and then kick you out.

My only hope is that these believers don't get back into power and start making decisions that hurt the middle class.

I just spat my coffee all over my monitor. 🤣

You described yourself perfectly, Dave.

Core Concept:

  • Projection involves attributing one's own internal states (thoughts, feelings, desires, etc.) to an external source, often another person.

I believe what the overwhelming evidence tells me. And I most definitely don't WANT the planet to be too toasty for my kids and grandkids. Or for anybody to have to swim to McDonald's 😁

I'd be much happier if the deniers were right. 😉

A frightening scenario. And nothing really can mitigate it.

Experts believe a Yellowstone eruption would inject 2,000 million tonnes of sulphur 40-50km above the Earth's surface. Once there it would take 2-3 weeks for the resulting sulphuric acid aerosols to cloak the globe – with devastating effects.

Many years ago I denied that the sea level would rise 20 feet in the next 5 years, bringing about the end of life as we know it.  I was right.

I was right, but I didn't know why I was right, so I started doing some research.  I found CDN, linked above.  I was presented with a LOT of charts, data, numbers, etc.  If Dr. John Robson PhD is lying, it would be so easy to prove it.

If you actually would be happier if the deniers were right, then go find out what the deniers are saying.  The gentleman in @G-RFRY's video above has a theory about why climate alarmists might not be happier fairly early in the video.  I don't know if he's being totally truthful or accurate on other things;  he claims the 97% of climate scientists is actually 0.3%.  At least he's in a position to know more about it than I am.  He says a lot of interesting things.

A few years ago my wife's sister called in a panic.  "It's 85 degrees in Greenland!  All the glaciers are melting!"  I'll let you do your own research on that one.  I believe the highest temperature ever recorded in Nuuk was 58 degrees, but do your own research.  I could be wrong.

Hook

PS.  If you've ever done an Atlantic crossing in an aircraft too small to fly direct you should have some idea about Nuuk and Narsarsuaq.  🙂

You are getting close to a shut down!  To much about climate change (taboo) and the usual political comments
(very taboo) by the usual suspects(s).

Ooo!  I just realized I read Patrick Moore's book "Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom" back in September 2023!  Looks like I'm gonna have to read it again.  It's available in Kindle Unlimited in both US and UK.

I remember liking it enough to recommend it to my son.

Martin, if you want to dispute anything he says, it might be easier to do it from the book.  We can discuss it in PM.
