A320 vs 737

Featured Replies

I hope this is not a religious debate but ’m getting back into the sim (MSFS24) after a long hiatus and wondering what airliner to invest in?

I flew the FBW A320 Neo back in the day. Is there a good near “study level” 737 that’s freeware or they are all paid options? I’m not against paying for a good aircraft, but at least back in the day, the value of the FBW was hard to beat.

One big draw for me is the availability of affordable MCDU and AP controllers which is why id like advice on which one to invest in.

I have the Honeycomb yoke and throttles so kinda leaning towards Boeing to take advantage of the yoke, although I also have a joystick if I go Airbus so that’s not a deciding factor.

Anyone faced this decision recently and care to share your thought process?

  • Not true. I fly both as much as each other!

  • Best bang for buck get the Fenix Airbuses.  But the FSLabs A321 Neo and Ifly Max8 are both fantastic. I own all. I prefer the FSlabs bus myself

  • If I only have a choice between 737 or a32x I would choose FSLabs. If given the choice between all the MFS tubes I would choose the Leonardo MD80.

If you are willing to spend money on good gear then I'd suggest spend a little money and pickup the Fenix A3xx suite and if you want a 737 get the iFly 737 Max.

These 2 Addon's are at the top of the tier when it comes to simulating the real thing for MSFS.

Thanks. If you had to pick just one… to invest in controllers and learning… which would you choose and why?

Fenix A3xx series.  This is my personal preference as I find the Airbus system/Logic to make more sense to me.

think that this is is up for debate since most believe the fsl321 has a bit more system/logic where as the fenix has it over  the fsl version in the cabin layout and  ground taxing

I would go for the Fenix buses now. Also, they are going to release a hugh update hopefully very soon. As far as Boeings go the top dog now is IFly Max 8 737, then PMDG for the bigger 777 Boeings. Also Ini Builds has a graet A350 also if you perfer larger planes.  It all depends on what model you want to fly. You can't go wrong with either.

You are confusing the 2 different system integrations of the Fenix and FSLabs, they are both Airbus which I prefer which is what I mean.
Not comparing Fenix to FSLabs here.

If you go down the Boeing route for payware, then go for the (free) FlyByWire A320 - then you might get the best of both worlds!

Wow. Seriously.

Your either  an airbus or a Boeing guy

 PERIOD.

Which one are you and go from There.

2024 Boeing

I agree right now Ifly 737

Airbus

Also agree. Can't go wrong with the Fenix

Although the choices for Airbus are much more varied l.

Watch some Utube videos.

Keep an open mind and have fun

Remember that Utube videos are usually bias to a certain degree.

I "fly" both A320 and B737 quite happily - both are good. Not quite sure which I actually prefer though ... 50/50 at the moment!

Which one do you prefer
