July 26, 2025Jul 26 I just bought the Westland Scout, wow, it flies like a dream. It works very well in MSFS 2024. The SAS is unique but it works as advertised. I think SAS or basic autopilot should be implemented in helicopter, the very idea of flying a helo is sightseeing. I kinda like the Wasp variant better as that's the Navy version for landing on ships (see the canted wheels so it doesn't roll overboard! 😉 ). I hadn't held much hope for it since it's a "cheap" Local Legend addon, but iniBuilds seems to have done right by it in regards to flight model 🙂 p.s.: helos aren't really for sightseeing - they've just become ubiquitous enough that it's become "affordable" 🤣. like most other aviation milestone aircraft, they got their start as military machines. 👍

I wouldn't go so far as to reinstall the sim. I'd take one of the 3rd party helos, like the R66, delete every single key/axis bind that's related to Power or Flight Controls, and rebuild from there - ensuring I end up with absolutely ZERO overlapping/conflicting controls. Also ensuring I have used only helicopter related controls (the Guimbal Cabri is a good example since it's built by Asobo, and they flew IRL Cabri's to dial it in). The Cabri is also a good example because it has a rather dynamic Governor for keeping N1 in the extremely broad green band. for e.g., if you toggle the Governor to Off, then the Throttle and Collective instantly start behaving independently as we'd expect. But good luck flying the aircraft that way!
July 26, 2025Jul 26 The Westland is on the 2024 Marketplace now? Or does buying it on the 2020 Marketplace give you access to it in 2024? I deleted my controls in Windows registry and started with the calibration again and now It works a bit better. What doesn't work correctly is the Force Trim Release, in my case is inverted and I can't revert it. I saw in the MSFS's forums that it's reported, I hope it's fixed with the SU3. I can use Rotor lateral/longitudinal Trim but I would prefer to have the FTR. I did several tests with the H125 and Taog's H500c, when you fly about 80/90kt you can lose better the speed (obviusly) even you don't need to reduce too much the collective, but when you fly about 120kt at MCP and want to reduce your speed It's complicated because first you have to reduce your collective so the helicopter start to descent a lot( MSFS's pitch sensitivity problem maybe?), and at the same time you have to rise your cyclic and move your trim and doing this two steeps the helicopter starts to go up and you have to reduce the collective even more to avoid it so you start your deceleration with the power like if you were going to enter in autorrotation, once you get your speed below 80kt everything comes to the "normality" again. Another thing that I saw on Taog's H500c is that sometimes your VSI is between 1.000 and 1.500ft/min (either positive or negative) but if you check your altimeter you will see that is not moving but I think this is part of MSFS's pitch sensitivity problem.

Purchase from 2020 market and it takes a while to appear in 2024. July 27, 2025Jul 27 Ah ok. 2020 is a distant memory and I didn't buy it then. Maybe it will turn up as a rental one day. I'd like to try it at least. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
