Texture POP in/ changing in final approach

Featured Replies

In final approach, the textures in front of me before the runway are changing constantly/popping in. What causes this and what I can do? I have TLOD around 20 at that moment with autofps and OLOD always 100, I thought Olod is what matters here? I see this in youtube too with someones video:

What is sad is this type of ‘playground’ bullying here at Avsim, that is completely uncalled for and un-needed.    For the record, I don’t try and bash Anything or sway anyone anywhere. I simpl

Like the trees and buildings in ground switch models or something.

Could not find answer from anywhere, just people reporting they have this problem. Any ideas?

Welcome to msfs. You won’t find a fix for this, it’s up to the developer Asobo to fix it.

It is one of the reasons I mainly stopped using 2024. To me it is extremely immersion breaking more so than other things.

In fact, your video above perfectly highlights it. Once you see it, you can not unsee it.

For me, it happens in 2020 version🤔🤔

Absolutely, the same textures/scenery popping in MSFS2020/2024. You wonder what it will take for ASOBO to hire knowledgeable programmers and listen to customers. All the other good aspects of this game/simulator are overshadowed by this unwillingness to fix and incompetence. VERY UPSETTING. It's there every time we start this software.

I cant go forward with these popping or disappearing buildings and trees😆 Is there anything I can do to mitigate it?

Hoping asobo to listen after they put su16 out 🤣🤣🤣

Happens in both, 2020 is worse with the scenery morphing too.

Nothing you can really do to be honest other that hope for a miracle that Asobo fox it, highly unlikely though.

PS you’ll get people in these forums here Who claim they don’t see it. However your video posted is just part of lots of evidence it does exist.

I dont? How u eliminated it??

200 TLOD In VR

Its been the norm for a very long time especially the coastal cliff morphing.

There was much more coast/cliff morphing/popping in this very demanding heavily modded scenario prior to SU16.

Annoying but never enough to be sim breaking for me. I hope they figure out how to eliminate it totally one day!

This is always how it's been for me.  Yes there are times when I will see a pop-in but overall it's almost a complete non-issue for me.  That was 2024 and I haven't used 2020 for a while now but don't recall it was much different.  I've not done anything beyond limit frames with RTSS Front Edge Sync, attempt to maintain at least 10% headroom above my frame rate lock which is at 50FPS-native for most scenarios on the ground in complex planes and settings, and don't use any form of frame generation.  I'm one of those people in these forums Who claim they don't see it.  And I don't except on rare occasion so it's easy to ignore.  And you saw that video which was amply busy enough to manifest an issue w/ pop-in objects, and as you saw, there was essentially none. One would assume the more complex the scenario, the more likely pop-in would occur.

Unfortunately, even in this short video, we notice problems at 4:17 or 4:18 when a water texture pops up, at 4:38 on the right side of the screen, we see some building or tower appearing, at 6:25, there are some cars popping in the parking lot, and at 6:29, some objects appear on taxiways... As you mentioned, for you, "it's a complete non-issue," but for many of us, it is. Statements like this, in my opinion, don't help while this problem is widespread, and there's no solution to fix it.
