This happened to me on my initial attempt at installing MSFS 2024 from Steam with MSFS 2020 installed.

I resolved it by uninstalling MSFS 2024, waiting a day, logged into my MS XBOX account via MS Store first, then installed MSFS 2024 from Steam again.  There is a bug somewhere between MS XBOX account and Steam account … the two don’t seem to get along (most likely authentication issues).

I bit the bullet a few hours ago and bought FS2024 (Steam) while keeping my FS2020 intact.

When I launch FS2024, I am being asked to sign in to my Microsoft account but I am unable to enter anything into the sign in box.

Could it be that the server issues being reported here are prohibiting me from signing in?

I got around this by copying the username/password to the clipboard (ctrl + c) and rapidly clicking the box while typing ctrl + v (paste). Eventually you will manage to enter your credentials.

I learnt this unelegant solution when assigning joystick buttons in BATC (a known problem with VKB controllers...)

Hah, that's a creative way to fix it. I wonder why this happens - something to do with controllers? Maybe @Noell you can unplug your joystick/other controllers and see if it lets you enter it?

Do you have a Honeycomb Alpha? I had the same problem when trying to sign in to the Outlook website. I discovered that this is quite a common problem when certain switches on the Alpha are in certain positions.

Tried unplugging the Alpha yoke but that made no difference but by using the "unelegant" solution, I was finally able to log in.

Thanks!
