Latest update for the TFDi MD-11 is released (v1.1.3)

Featured Replies

Hi,

As you know TFDI have been working on a major texture update for the MD-11 MSFS2020 and making the current version MSFS2024 compatible that finally released yesterday.

In looking through the changelog of v1.1.3 there are also some fixes for P3D included in this update:

The list below is what I generated out of the official change log just for P3D.

  •  FIXED - [P3D] Center gear compression animation
  •  FIXED - [P3D] Nose gear door animation on freighter
  •  FIXED - [P3D] ECON texture and emissive map mismatch
  •  FIXED - [P3D] Breaker texture and emissive map mismatch
  • FIXED - [P3D] RH wing light orientation
  • FIXED - [P3D] ECON switch
  • FIXED - [P3D] ER Fuel panel visibility
  • FIXED - [P3D] Standby attitude slip ball animation
  • FIXED - [P3D] Steering tiller animation
  • FIXED - [P3D] Ditching button
  • FIXED - [P3D] MOVIE / PA IN USE LIGHTS linking error
  • FIXED - [P3D] YD/LSAS lights
  • FIXED - [P3D] Outflow valve range
  • FIXED - [P3D] EVAC light
  • FIXED - [P3D] FIRE AGENT LOW light tags, Bleed air button linked animations
  • FIXED - [P3D] AUTO ANTI ICE button and light
  • FIXED - [P3D] Flap pylon clipping
  • FIXED - [P3D] CMCDU notification lights
  • FIXED - [P3D] AGENT LOW lights not working
  • CHANGED - [P3D] Saved flights now properly restore state

Note: the latest version is actually v1.1.4 as 3 items were addressed for MSFS yesterday.

    Cheers,

Is there a fix for the memory leak?

In the previous version, there was a file located in the panel subfolder that you could disable that would fix the issue.

At last we have all wheels on the ground...

Yep! That was "irritating" to see the central bogie of Freighter just left hanging in mid air!

Note: I did not see anything about modified fuel consumption which has been way off the published burn figures - at least for the F variant in P3D. This really needs to be fixed. 🙄

I am not sure if there was a memory leak confirmed by TFDi , maybe I missed it, but the textures in the P3D sim took a lot of VRAM. As far as I know the improved textures in the latest release only apply to MSFS so I expect the same textures as before are being used for P3D.

So I think the answer to your question is "No". You will need to continue to apply the workarounds that were found to keep the VRAM usage in check.

I have not had a chance to verify this though in the sim.

Based on this thread and previous ones, it doesn’t appear to me that the change log addresses all of the issues that I would consider shoe stoppers, like the fuel consumption being off and high vram.  Bummer as I’d really like to add this plane to my hanger.

hopefully they continue to improve the plane.

Do please mention the bugs in their discord! They seem to still be working on updating the P3D version so if it is mentioned the probability is higher.

Yes, I think there is still a major P3D update to come by looking at the list of fixes in the latest release, there still quite a few existing bugs to be fixed. Now that the major MSFS update is out the way, hopefully TFDi can devote some time on focusing P3D functionality.
BTW- The Discord does have a couple of entries related to P3D fuel consumption errors so I think its well documented but it doesn't hurt to add your feedback to the existing user reported problems.

Yes. With the update, that file (actually, PDK2D2D.dll) gets reinstalled. Just disable it again.

It seems the P3D MD11 Version isn't available anymore. I'd like to purchase it, but I can't find it anymore.

Looks like they've gone full PMDG then.

I understand a single purchase gives you both P3D and MSFS versions. I don't know if that changed
