February 18Feb 18 Spent a week with the Fenix A320 (great add-on!) and it is time to see what the A350 is all about. Any showstoppers I should know about? Not expecting perfection but I am hoping the main systems work as intended. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

Not expecting perfection but I am hoping the main systems work as intended. Definitely take a shot at the A350, Rob. It has been about a couple of weeks or so since I flew the v1.2.1 A350, ultra-long-haul, but no (apparent) issues from my experience (of course, no RW pilot here). I’ve posted my flight in the Screenshots Forum. Someone has reported excessive pitch-up after takeoff, but not in my experience. Fly with FD for a bit, after takeoff, without being in a hurry to engage AP1. Trim is automatically managed. Remember to import (and sync) SImBrief data into the EFB and also into the FMS. Note that there are some issues with the A350 HUD (didn’t bother me, since I didn’t know how exactly it should look like..🙂…) There are a couple of recent posts here about these topics, that you may like to inspect. Do retry the takeoff if you fail the first time. I did the same, but I now love this ultra-modern Airbus. Have fun. (Needless to say: Make sure v1.2.1 version identifier shows in your My Library for the A350.) Edited February 18Feb 18 by P_7878

February 18Feb 18 Since 1.1.7, I haven't had any problems with the aircraft at all. Sometimes GSX acts up a bit by only letting a single passenger board, but a quick Simbrief reimport and boarding usually solves that. In terms of pure flight, I didn't notice any problems in over 1000 hours last year. Not a single WASM crash either, PMDG's 777 is the new king in this regard for me.

Good point about having to re-import SimBrief (payload) data and such sometimes, especially if any unusual messages are seen on the ECAM (hope, I’m using the right terminology). I was surprised to see SimBrief suggest only about 140 pax for my A350-900ULR, I thought it was a “big” airplane…🙂…but, it’s indeed so, in RW. These airliners are meant for ultra-long-haul, and the pax have to be comforted much more than normal. Also, it’s worthy of note, there is no other Airbus like this one, in our SIM today…it just feels different, inside and out…🙂…to me, at least… Edited February 18Feb 18 by P_7878
February 18Feb 18 I’d flown the A350 for months with no WASM crash. Since the last patch I’ve had 2. Still my current favorite but there is something really disappointing when you go through the planning, pre flight, checklists and everything then 2 hours in the plane just stops responding. Nothing unfreezes it. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma

At least it's better than the A380 (the only one with comparable display complexity). - Text entry into the MCDU is a bit awkward in the PC version, you need to click the field, then press Control, and then start typing. It's not like in the EFB OIS, where you simply click and type. But this is more a gotcha than a showstopper. - Hope you don't have any changes in your flightplan. Last time I edited one inflight, I got all my instruments frozen. Apart from that, it's a very nice bird, handflying is lovely (as I expect with any Airbus). February 18Feb 18 It is at this moment and time my second favorite airplane in MSFS2024. To me, if you want to fly an Advance Modern plane in MSFS, the A350 stands out above all others.. So many screens, its a little overwhelming at first, especially if you have not flown a lot of airbus planes before. Its big, its fun. No big issues that I have found. I prefer older aircrafts, but I own all of the PMDG including the 777 and the Airbus 320 and this one is the most fun I have had. It feels like what modern aviation should be like. I cant speak for the refresh rate as my system is pretty up to date and its never been an issue in any plane I own Edited February 18Feb 18 by Ron Lefebvre Ron MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. February 18Feb 18 Author Well, coming from the A320 (Fenix) my first flight was awesome. Definitely a lot of knowledge from the A320 carries over. Everything worked pretty well, although I do have a list of minor issues I need to sort out. But all in all, this is a fabulous add-on. So immersive! 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

I understand the MCDU requires to press Control before typing, but I'd love to be wrong. February 18Feb 18 Many systems still do not work as the real thing, but no show stoppers. One example: Soft Go Around. The annunciations all work correctly but the aircraft commands a pitch that gives you a vertical speed way over 2000ft/min. Which is not how soft go around logic works on Airbus.
February 18Feb 18 Author Struggling with my CH rudders. No brakes or rudder control on takeoff or landings. The F/Ctrl screen does not show them working but i see the pedals moving in sim. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
