Pauses during landing

Featured Replies

How the h**l do I get 2024 to stop pausing a couple of times just as I'm touching down?

Kinda kills the immersion, ya know?

That's something that many deal with. My sim runs great departing airports then once I land I get panning stutters and some micro stutters when slowing down on the runway.

Take a look at AutoFPS. You'll be able to tweak the LOD and TLOD settings based on AGL. Works a treat!!

I have it and use it. Have mine set to 50 TLOD on the ground. But still get panning stutters

What do you have for OLOD? Reducing the number of ground objects might help. Also - does this happen at every [busy] airport? Some are notoriously badly optimised.

Is this something that affects users with less powerful systems, or is it random?

Generally, the more powerful your system, the less stutters you will get whilst landing, but it is generally a result of having settings to high for the system you are using.  AutoFPS works well by reducing the settings automatically when FPS drops, though personally, I find using dynamic setings in MSFS2024 does the job for me and works in a similar way to AutoFPS.

I have not experienced any stutters of any kind with my new PC when landing at any airport in MSFS 2024. Since I do not use PG, the load on my system will be less severe than for the 75% of users who do use PG. Maybe that is a factor?

That's the case here, although when I do enable PG since SU4 it's rare to get even a single stutter at the arrival airport anymore.
