Tell me if I'm out of order people, but has anyone else noticed a small group of YT content creators that are presently using this forum quite blatently to post their videos, as a means to attain clicks and views? (Regardless as to whether the subject matter is already being covered in a neighbouring thread). Absolutely agree. April 3Apr 3 Peter, I love your youtubes, Joshua's too, and many other. Having the links here is GREAT because I don't like to open youtube in my daily sim web poll. So, please continue to post your links here, they're useful to me. I'm sorry that others feel uneasy with it... and that worst than that they're making users who like to see your content have to read their (for us) useless posts.... I'll never post again / go try your own channel and it's hard to restrict the excitement I have for sharing knowledge but yes, the wealth I make on Youtube is enormous and unfair to you ($58 so far this month) sorry for being here to have fun with everyone. No-one is trying to extinguish your enthusiasm to make your videos. Some people just don't want to feel that AVSIM is turning into a front for content creators to plug, plug, plug. I can find yours or other people's videos really easily on YouTube. Threads here promoting each one under the guise of "sharing knowledge" just aren't needed, nor necessarily ingenuous... IMHO. Youtubes, text, links to web sites and everything that can help us simmers make a better use of our simulators and hardware are also good posts at this kind of forums. These days we don't read that much the "manuals" like the one you carefuly wrote for FU3 🙂 How many posts here about a given problem some user experienced aren't duplicates of posts on the same subject at the product's support site / discord / ... The point is, if other users, like me, have AVSIM as their main daily poll then this will save use additional search, and a thread on a given subject can be further debated and bring additional hints and knowledge that may help us use our sims even more to our liking. Out of curiosity, since I believe in your real professional pilot life you might have flown twin props, I would really like to see a youtube about their rw behaviour in terms of prop effects, under high power regimes like during takeoff and initial climb, or whenever speed drops and / or higher AoAs are achieved. How do powerful twin props, turboprops, with non counter rotating props, because those make the life easier to their pilots unless one of the engines fails, behave in terms of prop effects, like those caused by torque from the engine/prop binary, p-factor at higher AoAs, slipstream / propwash acting over the wing sections behind the props, and over the tail surfaces ? Are they less demanding on "feet work" during the takeoff run and / or at higher power regimes and AoAs, compared to single prop aircraft ? And what about the flight simulators you use ? Are they anywhere close to the real thing ? What are their main limitations, innacuracies in terms of reproducing prop aircraft and their "turning tendencies" ? Peter is an OG in flight simming. I worked with Peter at Cape Air on Nantucket back in 2000, him as a pilot and me as a second job ramp agent but both simmers. I'm happy to see him back in the forums but also feel your viewpoint is respectful and noteworthy, just one that I dont agree with in this case. i9-13900K O/C | ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero | 32GB DDR5 6000MHz Kingston FURY | RTX 4090 24GB | 2x SSD M.2 (2TB Samsung 990 PRO) 1x SSD (4TB Samsung 870 EVO) | Windows 11 Home | H20: HydroLux PRO:HardLine Tubing| 1000w PSU | Starlink WiFi

It was against the practice that we're seeing and referring to. I have no doubt that he's a good guy. In making this point, I was coming from a place of wanting to protect what we have here, in AVSIM. The world is becoming one big, cheap, sponsored-content, clickbait world of media. Or at least, that's how I feel. I like to think that AVSIM is a community, not a front for the self-promotion of videos. My point was not personal (although Peter's response in calling those who agreed with me "curmudgeons" and miserable, was arguably personal). Peter also conflated the issue by talking about how little money he makes from YouTube. I made absolutely no reference to money whatsoever. It was about - as I see it - abusing the AVSIM forum to self-promote YouTube videos. I imagine a future where every other AVSIM post is someone sharing their latest video. I don't want that to happen. FS videos on YouTube are very polarizing. Some love the 'large personalities' and big egos on show. Others find them utterly offputting and narcissistic and can't stand the format. I hope this explains a little more about where I was coming from. April 3Apr 3 With Dynamic on @6x my CPU stays under 80% Otherwise high 80's @4x with a 180 target (monitor refresh rate). So far liking Dynamic FG Also, I don't think that Peter mentioned that you need to "allow experimental / beta features" in the nVidia APP. dd Edited April 3Apr 3 by Sky_Pilot071
