Teterboro KTEB v2!

Featured Replies

It's rare that I do screenshots of an airport.  But I really wanted to show off how absolutely beautiful Dreamflight's new KTEB v2 is!  It works in 2020 and 2024 (however it is not a native 24 airport).  There is a extremely small upgrade fee if you had version 1.  I bought from simmarket and I used the Contrail app to transfer my purchases (I'm personally not a fan of simmarket), and I was able to then use the upgrade coupon code of KTEB-EARLY-BIRD to buy it for about 9 USD.  The full purchase price is around 17 USD but it is perhaps one of the best value sceneries I've ever owned.

There is caveat however regarding navdata.  Some payware airports I've recently purchased such as KATW and this one do not work with RNAV approaches via the FMS or Garmin/GPS PROC loading.  I guess it was explained to me that default sim navdata is coming from the airport itself.  I have not found a remedy for this yet other than using Navigraph data which I subscribe to.  Traditional approaches work using NAV1 frequency for the localizer (LOC/ILS) or VOR.  From discussion with some other developers and other users this a scenery/airport issue.  @Tim-HH has just let me know that if you use Addon Linker it be a reason this doesn't work with the navdata.  Placing the airport into the 2024 Community folder should fix it!

Performance is reasonable for the extremely high detail at the airport.  The scenery also includes static aircraft (which I love because TEB would typically be full of bizjets and bizprops - and their static models look excellent).  I initially loaded on the Signature ramp (one of the many!) in the Black Square TBM 850.  I then slewed all over the airport, while changing the time of day, weather/season etc to get the screenshots seen here.  I did not receive a resources popup at the time of the pics.  I run aggressive Ultra settings with TLOD 200 (1440p RTX 4080), I also run the SamScene NYC along with MK Studios LGA.  I did just now fly in there in an upcoming bizjet and I did get the popup.  However this is to be expected with lots of AI traffic (I was only using default on high settings), and photogrammetry is also enabled.  Oh speaking of that, this airport recommends installing City Update 11 for MSFS 2024.  It's a tough place to fly into for the PC but overall even with the popup message the flying was still smooth.  (When will Asobo allow us to disable that message???)  Reducing some settings to high (especially Textures might help).  Also running CU11 is definitely harder on the PC as it uses higher resolution TIN... consuming more vram.  I almost forgot, perhaps running MSFS AutoFPS would be a good idea when flying into TEB.

Anyway, the overall scenery is amazing.  KTEB can easily accommodate any bizjet including a BBJ, ACJ, ERJ Lineage etc with it's 7000 ft runway.  It has multiple approaches to multiple runways.  What I found so interesting when exploring this airport was that Dreamflight modeled not just the main FBO, but essentially all of the FBO's inside and out.  I would absolutely call this the premier bizjet airport while flying into New York City!

Please enjoy some pics....

They've also modeled a lot of the surrounding buildings which is really cool.  I think this technique reduces the nasty TIN irregularities that typically surround airports like this.

This part is a minor annoyance.  FAA spec windsocks are always orange, these are ICAO.  I've written them and asked for orange windsocks.  But again pretty minor imo.

Those are some stellar screenshots Ryan, thanks for the mini review.

Are those statics configurable to turn off or on? I'd much prefer to use those parking spots for AI instead.

Fantastic Ryan. Looks like I’ll be buying this today.

Looks amazing!  And your first shot nicely shows why I like devs who do interiors.  No, I don't typically spend hours wandering around interiors, but sitting on the ramp and looking through a window into a well done interior like this makes a place come alive.

This one's a bit bigger/busier than what I typically fly into, but I may have to get it anyway.  The Turbine Duke and TBM 850 won't look TOO out of place amongst all the high-rollers, right?

Thanks too, for the review and pics - ryan - looks great.   I updated and flew in on the - FlightFX  Citation X  C750 - all was well except the NAV issues as you mentioned.

I could not get an approach to display properly in the FMC and MFD display....   I tried reinstalling Navigraph which didn't work so I went into FS2020 with the FFX Citation X and the approaches were fine there...   I loaded back into FS2024 in the Fenix A320 and the approaches were ok with that plane.

It's a Marketplace  bought(Why did I do that?)  FFX Citation X ...

It looks to me like the MSFS2024 version of the - FFX Citation X - has a problem with the NAV approaches.....    the airport seems fine.

Are you using Fenix with Navigraph data or default?

using it with Navigraph data...   guess I didn't do a proper test for the airport...

As far as the FFX Citation is concerned ,  do you think they need to make repairs or something....

Just bought it. This is by far and away the best set of interiors I have ever seen. Everything looks fantastic!

Yes so Fenix uses its own database just like the TDS GTNxi - so flying that will work.  It's basically default avionics (or ones based off default WT framework like the C750) that will fail.

IMO Navigraph should be working but it's not for me.  I wonder if it's a load order issue.

No it's not an aircraft issue.  It's a scenery developer issue at least according to Working Title.  They said it's most likely the dev is deleting waypoints.  2024 has changed and for some reason waypoints and approaches are contained in the airport vs navdata how it used to be

No plenty of smaller planes fly in there too.

Awesome!  I'm finding the missing waypoint thing to be not-so-awesome though.  I've emailed Dreamflight - hopefully they can take a look at it.  But they didn't respond.  Beware though, MM Simulations KATW exhibits the same issue.  ARGH!  Kinda puts a damper on me buying new airports if I run into issues like this.  It's pretty major.  Navigraph now says they don't think they can do anything.  Even though in SU4, airports with this issue worked as long as one uses Navigraph data.  Now in SU5 it no longer works.  I'm shocked people aren't posting about these issues.  KTEB is really new, but there are other airports with the same issue such as Orbx KHVN.  In that case the fixes load in the FMS but not on the MFD.

Agree. This is definitely a sickener,  especially when you've just bought it and it was released to market in this state...  unuseable - a business jet airport unuseable by business jets....

By the way , like you ryan I also have KHVN....

Maybe I didn't understand Ryan, but will it show up in the GTN 750?

very nice scenery and screenshots, thx Ryan! Brings back memories of my time at NetJets flying the global. TEB is a super busy airport and the departure procedures are tight. Always challenged myself and refused to turn on the AP right after takeoff and hand flew the SID (with that lovely 1500 restriction, you get to 1500 very quick and have to be on your game if hand flying).
