I bought this to use locally on my MSFS machine, but am having trouble with it continually “losing” the connection to MSFS 2024. I put that in parentheses because behind the “Connecting to MSFS…” message that appears after a couple of minutes, you can see the glass panel continuing to be streamed correctly.

I’ve not seen anyone else mention this on their discord unfortunately.

This is unlike how it works with plane-specific EFBs like that in the Sovereign, where you can hide or close the EFB in-game and still be able to operate it on your tablet/screen with GlassOut.

I will try this with the Comanches tablet. It would be very useful for the GlassOut screen to stay responsive even if the tablet is closed. It would also be great if the gtn750 could be used via my Android tablet while having the old school radio configuration. Not sure if that's possible at the moment.

So far I only get that connecting message when I press escape to go into the sim menus but then when I come back it reconnects. That makes sense to me, but I don't think I've seen the message otherwise.

Thanks. There must be something specific about my network setup that’s impacting it. I’ve been away from MSFS for about a year and just updated everything recently so it’s possible that something became corrupted after all those updates to the sim itself and all the addons…

I'm currently doing my first flight using Glass Out in the Fenix A321 and I must say it's a game changer! I was able to easily create a template to have the PFD+ND on my 2nd monitor and the ENG+ECAM on the 3rd monitor without any performance degradation and without any conflict with the Nexus Mods FG which crashes if a display is popped out the classical way. For my PC and setup, I think I have found the holy grail!

I will need to try this out. Bought a very cheap 15.6" portable monitor from AliExpress recently and was experimenting popping out displays in the Fenix. I was losing about 3 FPS. The last time I tried popping out a display was in MSFS 2020 and I was losing 15 FPS ! I'll give Glass Out a go.

Great vid Mike! Operating from a second PC makes a lot of sense while taking the load off your primary CPU and GPU. Can I ask, do you notice any latency on the Glass Out displays through that arrangement?

Do you see any noticeable FPS performance issues resulting from using Glass Out on another server?

We probably expect a decrease in FPS but my thinking is that while the primary CPU still has to process the display data, actual display work is now occurring on the other PC's CPU which hosts the Glass Out app, the effect being that the primary CPU doesn't have to run the app and the primary GPU has less display work to do. I would guess this may actually improve FPS even though it may not be substantial.

What is your experience Mike?

I have this and have been very happy with it. Using it with the Sovereign for both the EFB to a 12" tablet and the GTC controllers (2 and 3 side by side) to an older 8" Fire tablet. In both cases touch screens work great back to the sim. I have had mixed results on the PMDG and iFLY EFBs, trying some of the alternate methods in the Glass Out app.

Performance might be a bit better since I'm not running seven monitors on the server (MS2024) computer, I'm down to three displays. I haven't noticed any degradation in performance. If there is any, it's negligible.

Have been playing around with Glass Out for nearly 2 months and I must say it is very good. Installed it both on my laptop and Android tablet and works most of the times. The occasional lost connection and a couple of times my gtn750 was not responding on the tablet. I reinstalled GO and no problem since. The wifi in my mancave is not the best so that could cause connection problems ofcourse.

The largest benefit of this software is that it causes zero frame loss. I have been struggling for years in MSFS loosing 20-30% fps with pop outs. Also CTD with pop outs and reshade.

Combined with Air Manager this piece of software was exactly what I was looking for.

You won't be disappointed. Let us know how it goes.

Tried the Glass Out demo. On my system it seems a little bit more efficient when increasing the number of pop outs.

So for four pop outs (Fenix ND, PFD ECAM upper/lower), I lose about 6 FPS the old way and with Glass Out I lose about 4 FPS.

So actually that's 50% more efficient if I'm losing 1.5 FPS per pop out the old way and 1 FPS per pop out with Glass Out !

You are lucky to loose just a few fps with pop outs. Somehow it always seems to have a huge effect for me in MSFS and x plane as well.

The benefit of glass out is that I can keep my main screens clean and my laptop takes care of pop outs and other software.

As far as I know only touch screen buttons work like gtn750, a2a Comanche tablet etc. Pmdg737 cdu needs a keyboard or pushable buttons to function properly.
