GSX Pro Installation. How?

Featured Replies

This is why I despise certain installation methods.

I wanted to install GSX Pro. I bought it and have not tried it in years.

The installer has two verions and neither one can be installed because I need an .xml file.

I found no help found in the FSDT site. What a joke!

That's why I'm posting in my fav forum.

Please help me make sense of somthing that should be very simple.

Thank you.

I have never had any issues with GSX (installation-wise). For example, I recently installed MSFS24 and was wondering how it would play with my MSFS20 installation including shared programmes (such as GSX).
It was a breeze. I launched the GSX installer and selected MSFS24 from the little drop-down menu on the left. The app did its thing. No hassle, no confusion and is now happily co-existing with both sims.

I installed so long ago, I forgot how I done it. But my advice is let it install to default location, if not future problems will arise.

After a full clean install of win 11 early this year, I did not re-install any FSDT airports, since I use the add-on linker to load only what I need for the flight. I don't think that the airports have been updated in a long time.

I have a feeling that FSDT airports need to be installed first, before I'm allowed to install GSX, then enter the GSX Pro code. Right now, without any airports, the customer needs a .xml file in order to install GSX Pro. There's also a second GSX version. I probably need to post pics of the universal installer?

@Bigmack Why does the add-on manager have to be installed in the default location?

Years ago, I installed it in the C drive and not in program files. Now I plan on installing it on my D:/MSFS 2024 Add-ons and I will still use the add-on linker to enable and disable as needed.

The only reason I'm installing GSX is to use it to enable ramp personnel when I arrive at a parking spot. I want to be guided to the parking spot, just like you can do with default. Since I use BATC for IFR flights, default doesn't always work, even when I enable the taxi ribbon.

If this is NOT possible with GSX Pro, please let me know so that I don't waste my time installing and trying it.

Thanks.

You dont have to have fsdt airports to install gsx pro since its a seperate addon, don't know what your referring too a second gsx version? yes you will be guided in to your gate whan you taxi in(if you parked correctly the marshler will do a dance), since your using batc you can have it linked with gsx and it will tell you which gate your parked in and will tell you the directions to get there

I just installed the universal installer and now only one gsx pro v 4.0.3 appears.

I can't install any airports as well. Is asking me to locate a license file .xml. Same as GSX.

It should not be this hard to install add-ons. Another reason why I prefer the MP.

I tried to get a hold of Umberto. But, I have not heard from him.

Thanks.

Thanks for sharing the video, but it doesn't address the license .xml issue.

The older installer asked for a code. This new installer is asking for an .xml file that I don't have.

Of course the new installer asks for a code as well. NOTHING changed.

The activation with the license.xml is an EXTRA option that has been added recently which can be used by either those that don't want to type the key, or those that perform an offline activation using a different PC, or a phone.

So you can either type a key or use a license.xml file, it's your choice so yes, it can't be easier.

Hi Umberto,

I click install and there's no location to enter the code.

Thanks for your time.

OMG. All I had to do was click activate after entering code.

Finally, it's installing!

Thanks.

Every time I load the updater or installer I get an error. SODE not installed.

Update: I found an old SODE installer. I installed it and now the error is gone.
