Is this a Dash 8 in the Miltech slide from the FSExpo?

Featured Replies

I saw this post on Reddit and people in that thread are already speculating that Miltech might be working on a Dash 8 for MSFS:

Is there any more context on this? On Youtube, I was looking for the FSExpo live stream where Miltech was doing their presentation, but I can't find the recording of the livestream where Miltech was doing their presentation. Can anybody that was at FSExpo, or who watched the livestream, and who watched Miltech's presentation give more context on what Miltech said when they showed this slide?

Info’s been published.

It’s not going to be a Q400, so not a direct replacement for the Majestic.

There may not even be a civilian pax variant , as it’s said to be a military utility version of the 300, IIRC (which suits me JUST FINE 😁).

It’ll be interesting to see how well they pull this off. I’m still quite disappointed in their MH-60…

That is a shame. The Q400 is missed by many and there seems to be no comms from Majestic on whether or not this will actually be upgraded for MSFS. I can't see military version really filling that void. Limited liveries and scenarios. If Majestic are developing it, but slowly, then they run the risk of going the way Eaglesoft has with their Citation X750 development. It is taking soo long that they are at least 2 platforms behind with it being for FSX and P3D (I don't even think it's going to be compatible with P3Dv6). Technology changes have left them behind as well as their very odd choice of navdata provider.

Cheers

Well, they ARE known as MilTech, so it fits for them 😁👍

Yeah, I’m just not sure what the hold up with Majestic is…

It must be related to the fact that they have commercial/professional contracts.

But still, if we look at what Black Square or Just Flight or even the slow guys like PMDG have been able to accomplish in the last SIX YEARS, it seems like Majestic should’ve been able to figure it out by now.

As a “current” customer of theirs, I’m certainly rooting for them, but time is certainly passing them by.

It’d be a shame to see something like the Fenix/FSL situation happen…

Majestic already responded back in February, so about 4 months ago: https://msfsaddons.com/2026/02/25/majestic-says-dash-8-q400-systems-are-ready-but-the-3d-cockpit-is-holding-up-testing/

So there is comms from Majestic, it's just not frequent.

Hopefully Miltech will also include a passenger version of the -300. Honestly it would seem odd to go to the effort of creating a -300 and not take the next step to Iinclude the pax version.

What situation is that US? Curious as I own products from both vendors and I have no issues. Should I?

No issues with their work.

FSL had everything going for them to be the best A32x in MSFS, just as they were in P3D.

but they didn’t prioritize MSFS for whatever reason, and so Fenix is the market leader now.

Point being that the same thing could happen to Majestic. And while MilTech aren’t the “study level” types, it wouldn’t be difficult for them to extend their 300 to a 400.

Would definitely shadow a lot of wind from Majestics sails, if so.

Heck, at this point it’d be smarter for Majestic to subcontract MilTech to do the graphics work…👍

To be honest I didn't even know that there is a military version of the Dash.

Oh, yeah various militaries around the world frequently choose commercial airframes to fill various cargo/utility/ISR roles.

The recent rescue op in Iran involved CASA/Airbus C-295’s, and possibly Dash 8’s.

The PC-12 is frequently used for ISR, as are various King Airs.

and heck, there are even Hellfire missile armed Cessna Caravans!

Even the brand new SOCOM SkyRaider II CAS aircraft is based on a crop duster - the Air Tractor - which is already available in MSFS 😎

The MilTech Dash 8 seems to be a maritime patrol and ISR platform.

Makes a lot of sense as commercial aircraft tend to have better logistics support than a proprietary .military design, and are great whenever what’s needed most is useful load and economical operations. Just fit them out with necessary and sometimes modular equipment, and it’s a winner all round
