I have 674 folders in my Community folder. Over 300Gb of data. Yet MSFS2024 takes just under 3 minutes to load. I used Addon Linker with 2020 and valued it. But when I tried it with 2024, I just could not find a reason to be using it. My loading time barely changes depending on how many items I have in the Community folder. (I do sometimes remove things from it). Add to that the fact that 2024 runs as well when I have those 674 folders installed, as it does with an empty community folder. So now, I have everything in there, and I can fly what I want, between any scenery. I see no tangible benefit in 'de-selecting' things any more, via Addon Linker. As Dave_YVR said above, 2024 does not load nor pre-load items in the Community folder any more. It simply indexes the content, which takes a second or two. A strange bug.I now set 60 or unlimited before quitting so it loads faster next time in, then on loading set it to 30 fps plus framegen again before the pc gets to hot.You might not believe me but try it yourself if you normally lock at 30 fps. I have no idea why this should be.This is actually a pretty old bug, i allways disable frame rate limiter before closing the sim, and when i forget the sim takes about 1 extra minute to load.

Why on earth loading times are related to what frame rate you set in the sim is beyond me. Maybe someone might have a technical explanation for it?In the main I would say the biggest difference noticeable is when locked at 30 fps in sim. Loading takes a lot longer for me compared to 60 fps. Really strange! Edited Tuesday at 01:25 AM3 days by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). Tuesday at 08:37 AM3 days I still wonder occasionally, is it ok to just go dev mode pause, or open the save window as a pause, or exit the flight and just go back to the startup screen and put the computer to sleep, but don't exit the sim. How long can one continue on doing that I wonder?

Tuesday at 09:34 AM3 days My framerate is always set to Unlimited, and I have several hundred gigabytes of airport and scenery addons installed in the Community folders. However, the load time of MSFS 2024 from desktop to main menu has hardly changed. As stated previously, it is around 1m45s.
