I think it could get messy fast. Perhaps I can spin off editor for real airports someday :)
Thursday at 04:34 PM1 day I remember having a scenery creator program for FSX & P3D and I was hoping this would be like that for MS2024, but it looks like it's more like a game. So still waiting for a scenery design prg. that makes it easy to make airports and scenery more manageable than the one in MS2024. Jorn Lundtoft I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do. What would be most useful/helpful to you? Editor with unlimited everything? Selecting existing airports to edit? I'm more than willing to branch out and add to the roadmap if there's a need!
Thursday at 11:14 PM1 day I'm planning on building a basic version of the airport that was in operation when I was a kid, old Sunderland Airport, maybe over this coming weekend.27 minutes ago, McCrackenAir said:Alright, so there's clearly some demand for an offline version of this - how would you envision that? While also being able to edit existing airports. With the ability to post them on your server or even on something like Flightsim.to. 23 hours ago23 hr Yes a way more friendly offline mod, where we can see the changes live in the sim, and use all the objects from scenery enhancements objects at ie flightsim.to like Emerald Object Library and maybe share them with other users. What is needed is something simple to just place new objects and move existing objects at default airports already in the sim, without 20 different windows and who knows how many steps to get it done. I would not want to do anything to payware airports. Is something like this possible in MSFS2024? I am at the point now I can get into a new project if just modding a default airport and replace/place objects already within the sim in just a few minutes. Of course there are other aspects aside from object placement that are very annoying and time-consuming.

I was able to import an airport file and reverse it, placing the airport on my claim map/editor. Had it's fair share of issues, but I think this is something worth ironing out. 3 hours ago, Nandengo12 said:Of course there are other aspects aside from object placement that are very annoying and time-consuming.What kind of aspects? Genuinely curious, I'm not a fan of using devmode (obviously) and that pain point might be solvable 🤷♂️

I have been trying on and off since FS2020 to mod airports, and I got it to work properly exactly once. Then, when I went to continue a day or two later, my mod disappeared from the game and hasn't been seen since. That was in 2020. I have never been able to get it to work in 2024. I think I've watched pretty much every youtube video on the subject, but no dice. However, I can go into X-Plane's W.E.D. and mod stuff all day with no problems at all. That is the type of program I would like to see for FS2024, whether it be third party or an addition to Dev mode. Simple and effective... Without that or if the project was not 'built' initially, yes it's very easy to lose work/content unfortunately...
