Tuesday at 05:16 PM3 days Everyone enjoys the game in their own way, so please don't judge me. In P3D and MSFS2020 there was a way to watch a plane "fly" from gate to gate without me actually controlling the plane. I do not know how to fly a plane but I do enjoy spotting planes. I respect the people that fly a plane because it takes so much preparation and dedication but that's not how I enjoy the game. So my drawn out question is how can I do this in MSFS2024? I don't mind paying for a program that achieves it if that is possible. Is there a setting in the game or is this just not possible. Thank you
Wednesday at 10:48 AM2 days Hey Bosflo,You don't need to justify how you enjoy flight sim - there are all sorts of simmers and we're all essentially just enjoying ourselves.I remember the AI flies the plane feature. (I think it was called that? Or maybe that was X-Plane? ..there was a similar feature there too) but I can't recall seeing anything for this MSFS2024, in the assistance options or elsewhere. Wednesday at 12:16 PM2 days i am pretty sure FSFO can now fly the plane. will set the plane up, do everything for you, and if setup correctly will takeover the flying part too. i would check their discord channel to ask Matt (developer), he will be able to inform you much better than myself. discord - https://discord.gg/6WSHapSWWh | website - https://flightsimfirstofficer.com/ MSI Z790i Edge | i7-14700K | EK 360AIO | 32GB DDR5 6400mhz | nVidia RTX5080 | Acer Predator 34"
Wednesday at 12:25 PM2 days MSFS2024 definitely has the "AI flies the plane" choice or words to that effect, but I have never tried it so I couldn't say if it will accomplish your mission or not... Wednesday at 02:51 PM2 days I recommend you to get FStarter24 V5. It has an autofly function that is easy to use.Just add you waypoints to its map and it will automatically fly from waypoint to waypoint and you can enjoy the aircraft and scenery on the way.It works for all aircrafts and can be used all aorund in MSFS's world. You won't regret getting this app for your type of MSFS flying.https://i.postimg.cc/KjnZckVX/Skjermbilde-2026-08-05-164947.png
Wednesday at 02:54 PM2 days I'm pretty sure the bog standard Auto Pilot feature in 2020 (which I used extensively for benchmarking) is available on Flightsim.to for 2024. Wednesday at 02:59 PM2 days If it's just a question of watching a plane fly from A to B, then you could watch some of the Ai traffic that is spawned at various airports. This would not involve any controlling of the target aircraft itself. If you think that is sufficient for your needs, then read up about Chaseplane from Parallel 42. They have just released a new feature for their product where you can lock on to a specific aircraft and follow it in the sim. It's about $30 but it obviously contains way more functionality than just this feature. Wednesday at 03:02 PM2 days Another alternative for viewing user aircraft and AI aircraft with a flyby camera is Spotty26. Edited Wednesday at 03:08 PM2 days by Cap737Delta
Yesterday at 05:26 PM1 day Author Thanks, guys, for the helpful information. I am so glad I posted my question here. I got excited and bought chaseplane right away because of the spotting feature, but I don't see it in the sim. I have the latest version so I don't know what the problem is. I already owned spotty and it has become my favorite addon for fs2024. I hope I can get chaseplane to work because I saw some videos and it's exactly what I need. Thanks again
