I have finally gotten FS2024 working (,ish), and of course I need some AI traffic in the sim. I chose AIG cause I don't want to pay for Navigraph to use FSLTL. AIG works partly fine, but I experienced a funny thing in EKCH (Copenhagen) where traffic use both RW22L AND Rw30 at the same time. Departing traffic on RW30 had to wait and that meant that 5 or 6 aircraft got stacked on top of each other and several others was forced to go around.. The plus side was that they had their liveries that they should, but when I tried in EDDF, there was very few aircrafts and those that were there had only generic aircrafts in Boeing, Airbus and McDonalds colors. And even though the labels said i.e Lufthansa A321, it was a Boeing 737 in the Boeing color.

I don't know if it's an AIG thing or a FS2024 thing, so is FS Traffic the only alternative AI prg, that doesn't need a Navigraph connection? Both Say Intensions, and BeyondATC , needs Navigraph as far as I have heard or???? The thing that spoils the FS Traffic choice, is the thing with choosing the dep/arr. airports to see traffic, and there won't be any traffic in other airports. As I understand it, if I fly from Gatwick to Stansted and plan a route that takes me over Heathrow, there won't be any traffic visible at Heathrow, or am I wrong?

No, not at all.

I use BATC and my son uses SI and we have skies and aprons full of correctly-liveried AI aircraft. Neither of us has Navigraph. We use FSLTL models, which SI and BATC control and populate the skies with.

Thanks, that's great to hear, I will look into BATC then, cause I don't care for the subscription model with Say Intensions.

I currently use FSLTL and don't have the Navigraph ULTIMATE subscription. It's the older FSLTL injector and not sure if you can still retrieve it or not, but I have a copy and it works great. I use it with BATC and in fact prefer FSLTL injector over BATC's herky jerky traffic injector.

Just a note, BeyondATC is a great program, I use it a lot. I'm not sure if it will populate airports that aren't your departure or arrival. Maybe one of the more recent updates does that, but I haven't seen fully populated airports that aren't your dep/arr airports. There's AI traffic sprinkled in, but most of it is still what is used in your flight plan.

BeyondATC is an ATC program that does traffic injection. It is a great program, but it isn't exactly a 1:1 match for say an FSLTL.

I get what you are asking for, you want to see traffic at an airport you are flying over other than your departure/arrival airports. If I fly a GA route over LAX, I want to see traffic at LAX even though I'm only overflying it. Again, I'm not sure BATC does this (or maybe in the experimental branch, I'm only in the "main").

Not trying to steer you away from BATC, I use it and like it, I just don't know if it is doing what you asked. The traffic is good with BATC but it isn't exactly like FSLTL. Of course the performance of BATC is a ton better too.

If I'm wrong on this with BATC (or it might be an experimental build that I don't have, that costs extra), please let me know.

With roughly equivalent amount of AI traffic FSLTL's injection is roughly 50% of the CPU impact that BATC's traffic creates.

BATC uses its own engine to move AI traffic around the airport instead of relying on the sim not to mess things up. They penalty is the slight hesitations in AI aircraft movement you mentioned.

What do you use for ATC then? I use FSHud, but it's also too heavy in CPU.

I use BATC for ATC, but don't use its traffic injection and management. It's not ideal, but for me it's a definite net plus. And use FSLTL's old injector which does not require the Navigraph Ultimate sub to function.

Are you saying that if I have the old FSLTL injector and base models that it still works without using either BATC or SI? Or will it only give static aircrafts in the airports?

I still have the problem that some times the AI planes have the liveries they're supposed to have, and then in the next airport they're all in the generic airbus and boeing colors again. Any suggestions to why that happens? Btw, it's AIG models if that matters.

Don't know about issues w/ AIG as I don't use it, just FSLTL. FSLTL is working as it always did for me--static and dynamic work fine. I think the main difference between it and the newer FSLTL is that traffic is less in sync with real world flight schedules and I think it's mainly just delayed.

Thank you, that is good news that it still works with both static and dynamic traffic without having to subscribe to Navigraph or using BATC or SI. I really don't care that much if the traffic is "live" as long as there's traffic, that's ok for me. I'll give it a try and see how it works out.
