Version 4.01 Update

JD, Is your server that slow? I don't know what the problem is with the download but I can normally download a 22mb file in less than a minute, about 200kb / sec. This file is going to take me 6 and a half hours at that slow rate of 640 bytes / sec! Is there an alnernative to downloading this file at a faster rate? If not,I really don't see the point in even offering this update as a download. It would be a waste of time for me. It could be due to heavy traffic, which is what I am thinking, so maybe I'll wait for a while and try again later.Regards,Tom

You can't put the genie back in the bottle. :-)I'm 50% done with 3.5 hours left. Reminds me of the late '80s when I used to surf BBS's with my 1200 baud modem. :D

6.5 hours seems to be a standard for most people.same here, 2% completed...be patient is the password!Luigi ;-)

17 minutes to go!!Paul

Mine just hangs about half way through :(I'm on a 5 Mbit connection too. Oh well....

heh heh - you're so right!! :-DWhy not upload the file to Avsim? I'm sure it would be faster. I'm definately not going for the 6,5 hours solution.

Ok, I call it a day. This is not funny anymore.Twice (TWICE) I succeeded a download of about six hours and both times I got a corrupt file.Luc 'Glaudrung' Brusselmans

Well, it was very strange for me. I'm on broadband (cable) at 5 Mbit download. I attempted to DL the update two or three times and it said I was getting about 3 KB/Sec, give or take. I'd go for an hour or so and it would stop midway through. It was getting late here and I really wanted to run a test flight with it, but again it was hung at 63%. I closed the DL window (IE6) and attempted my third or fourth at it. I'm just using IE6, no download manager or anything, however, after closing the DL window stuck at 63% and clicking the DL link again, it actually came back up with the 63% DL and reactivated the DL! I've never had that happen. I was happy because it meant getting the file without starting over, but how that happened is beyond me.Good luck! The update is very nice. It's worth it, just keep trying.

You are right! The fun has been taken out of it after six hours and corrupt files - I just knew I had it. This takes me back a few years and it really makes me appreciate being able to download 30MB in minutes at most locations.Erv/KSDF
