  1. Some time this month...May you have yourself an AWESOME Birthday!
  2. That WOULD be the bomb! A little Corby on floats! I would do it then. Going to be flying in this tommorrow (real) - http://www.warbirddon.com/home.html
  3. Raster charts for the Grand Canyon (zip/tif images) can be had at www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/digital_products/vfr/ go 1/2 down the page and select the "Grand Canyon" tab. They are rather old (2001) but are still available through the FAA.. MMM.
  4. Bert, Very nice! Both the code & the GTN integration. :Applause: I will not be able to fly this Saturday. Either, flying in a C-45H, WX permitting, or driving up to Menominee, MI for a tour of Enstrom Helicopter.. If you make the flight - have a good one!
  5. Bert, It's very strange, the whole fuel setup for the Kodiak. First off in the aircraft.cfg it has - number_of_tank_selectors = 2 That should be one since there is only one engine. Then, in Kodiak_Fuel_Selectors.xml (2D) the code is only using "Fuel Valves" not "Fuel Selectors". Valves are a totally different animal compared to Selectors. That is why it follows the same tank configuration from the previously selected aircraft. Via FSUIPC logging the VC follows this same convention of using valves vs. selectors. Unfortunately this will keep one from selecting separate tanks (Bummer, hard coded in VC) - once maybe fixed. Selection of separate tanks could be done via the 2D popup with a rewrite of "Kodiak_Fuel_Selectors.xml" with a touch of tank/valve select logic. Do not know why your commands don't work - strange. What I would do is - Change the aircraft.cfg to "number_of_tank_selectors = 1" Use the following code in a non visible XML logic gauge mounted in the VC - <Gauge Name="Kodiak Fuel Selector Logic" Version="1.0"> <Update> <!-- THIS UPDATE ONLY WORKS IF THE DEFAULT KODIAK FUEL VALVES ARE ON --> (A:GENERAL ENG FUEL VALVE:1, bool) if{ (A:FUEL TANK SELECTOR 1, enum) 1 != if{ 1 (>K:FUEL_SELECTOR_SET) } } </Update> </Gauge> If that still doesn't work then there is some logic in the model animation that is keeping the commands from working. Nice flying with you on Saturday B) EDIT - Just tested using FSUIPC and it works, used the "F" key to command Fuel Selector Set with a parameter of 2 ( Left Tank) and then monitored 0x0AF8 (U16) "Fuel tank selector" . As soon as I hit "F" the output went to 2 (Left Tank) for just a second then back to 1 (All Tanks) . That should do it for ya.
  6. What a group flight! Following Josh in the Cherokee for the numbers at Colonsay (EGEY). Mike M to the right, then on the left (going back) Roger, Nick, Myself ("little guy"), Jock, Bert (TBM 850), Jeff. Way to the back is Michael J. in the DHC-3 Otter on the left, to the right, on the tarmac is Ron in the C182. Following Nick just after take off. Lovely weather! Hiding under Nick's tail (???). The prop blast and heat from the turbine is keeping the little wooden aeroplane dry. At Tiree Airport (EGPU). From right to left - Bert, Mike M, Jeff, Nick, Michael J, & Josh. On the grass is Ron (182) and Jock. Close up of Michael J in the Otter and Josh in the Cherokee. Still at Tiree... OOPS! forgot to get Roger into the pic. He's in the Red Twin Otter just beyond Bert in the TBM 850. Cute little Coll Airport (EGEL), the scenery is very nice here,,,, from what can be seen. Next time I have to disable that water spray effect during MP. What a PITA. Following Ron and Jeff leaving Coll. Nice landscape. Almost like "smell-o-vision" - can smell the green.... "Irish Spring" soap. 10 of us heading to Barra (EGPR). Radio chatter was very light. We where all pondering how this was going to be done, and,,,, who's going first! Jock at my eleven.. He might have the right idea using floats going to Barra. Who knows if the winds are pushing water inwards towards the mud flats, regardless of the tide chart. Either it was a nice welcome at Barra, or .... The people at Barra where listening to the radio chatter and said to themselves,,, "Shite! What the H__l is going on out there, let's go see!" Josh planting it nicely at Barra. "Smell-o-vision" again...It kinda stinks. We all thought that landing at Barra was the hard part... Departing there heading towards Benbecula (EGPL) looked like a mess. Over the radio - "Which way?" Ha! 3 Twin Otters, 6 engines and props keeping me toasty warm! Departing Benbecula following Jeff and Nick. Apron side of Stornoway Airport (EGPO) from left to right (not Citation) - Mike M, Bert, Nick & Roger. Further back in the King Air is Mike O. Mike O had quite a few connection dropouts, this is the only shot I got of him. Sorry. Welcome to the Saturday "meeting of the minds" session! Up at the top, above the blue hangar is a little glimpse of Ron coming in. It's not a star... Or is it? :-) Ron, just inches above the ground for an excellent landing. Ron Taxiing in - On the grass to my left is Nick & over yonder to the far right is Josh. Now that Ron is here we can start the "meeting of the minds" and cure the world's maladies. Perfect WX in Scotland was had! HA! This shot was taken halfway through the flight, just noticed I lost the Wideclient connection then looked at the METARS and such, matches perfectly! UGGH! Off topic... This shot was taken on Friday, May 22 by Astronaut Scott Kelly onboard the ISS. Friday's WX in Green Bay was a gorgeous, crystal clear day. Perfect Timing today! The F1 race @ Monaco is just starting.... Have a good weekend!
  7. Gents, Once again I will be flying the Corby... (Same exact as last week) I Like it Doesn't "Corby" sound a bit Scottish? Been sucking at landings. Either coming in a bit high and stalling her a bit high and planting it like potatoes, or, hitting the ground tailwheel first. - Neither of which is good for a wood framed aeroplane of that size. Need practice. You be lucky I didn't pick the Bearcat! But.... Of course I will be modifying this little "EXPERIMENTAL" ( Cause I can ) and taking out the Jabiru 2200, due to regulations of flight using this power plant. The replacement will be the AeroVee Turbo, upping horsepower to 100 from 85. The performance at altitude will be enhanced to 8000 feet for the little bugger. To see the "light" go here after getting the "proxy" or used aircraft. Cya Saturday.
  8. Rick, A "flushed it clean from my system" is a perfect way to start again! ^_^ Nick, Here is the original movie quote from which I butchered @ Glen Coe. ( No disrespect at all. - Just a movie quote. SHITE! I be Scottish too! )
  9. Here are some shots from the first round in Scotland. Seems like the proper weather is showing up. Good crowd! The wind sock is fully erect, going to be one of those flights again. Following Mike on climbout. UMMMPHHHH! - The sound one makes when the all air leaves the lungs after a hard landing. Ron on touchdown. Nick on approach. UMMMPHHHH! - Again. Working the winds on approach. Lismore Lighthouse, on the small island of Eilean Musdile. Over the top of Glencoe while listening to the history behind the massacre. Passing over Ben Nevis with "just" enough visibility. Eilean Donan Castle. Mike crabbing it in nicely while following Josh. The winds where extreme at times. Windsock fully inflated as a direct crosswind. Nick, Josh, Mike & myself. Looking good! Ooops, caught the gust... Nick at my 11 O'clock. A nice Sunset for the "meeting of the minds"..
  10. Been slackin - here's some pics from AU6 around Melbourne. Crosswinds were par for the course the whole flight. Peek-A-Boo! Excellent coastline rendition. Cape Schanck Lighthouse. Busy, Busy, Busy.... 1 go around, 2 touchdowns & 1 approach all in one frame! Ron coming in over the top. Busy place at Barwon Heads. Split Point Lighthouse. No landing fee for me.. I can fit between two others taking up zero space!
  11. With all the talk of bad weather I updated the Corby to minimum IFR & added nav lights along with an ADF receiver for "pin point" navigation. It's completely optional for you,but if you add the following sections to the very end of the Corby's aircraft.cfg you will see the lights.. No worries as the aircraft.cfg didn't even have these sections. I also added a smoke section to let you all know if my highly modified Jabiru 2200 blows up! Cya tomorrow. [LIGHTS] // Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing // 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabin light.0 =3, 0.0,-9.32, -0.23, fx_navred light.1 =3, 0.0, 9.32, -0.23, fx_navgre light.2 =3, -8.20, 0.00, 3.89, fx_navwhi light.3 =2, -0.00,-9.25, -0.23, fx_strobe light.4 =2, -0.00, 9.25, -0.23, fx_strobe light.5 =1, -5.91, 0.00, -1.03, fx_beacon light.6 =5, 1.0, 4.651, -1.25, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_down light.7 =5, 1.0, -4.651, -1.25, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_down [SMOKESYSTEM] smoke.0 = 3.5, 0.0, -1.83, fx_smoke_w
  12. Going to fly the Corby Starlet again. B) Can get 146 kts true out of the 'lil bugger with the Jabiru powerplant. The repaint (G-CCXO) is included w/the base package used last week - all info on the spreadsheet. Thanks Nick.
  13. Nice! Someone has their paint brushes out already!
  14. We, the Earth, have been blasted by the 3rd coronal mass ejection in as many weeks.. A possible cause?
  15. When it started for me (Sat Morning N. Central US) the site came back with "Database Error" (SQL type) for a few hours following with "Server too busy" coming up occasionally in the following days.
  16. Was not going to stop until I figured out what that parked aircraft was at YBRS, 2 days later - Bingo! It is a Helio HST-550 Stallion. (VERY RARE!) It kinda fits there with the horse training facility @ the NNE corner of the airport. I guess I can go to sleep now. -_-
  17. Milton, Once again, you, & team, have raised the...... The Bar? -Yes, just do not run into it. AWESOME!
  18. Negative there fella, nothing was said ... Besides it's the banter I enjoy. :Talking Ear Off: Absolutely dig your signature! So true... For instance, take a look over at the FSUIPC support forum. I bet Pete has a premade response for RTFM. It comes up daily. 2 files walk into a zip, an .exe and a readme.txt.... Who gets clicked first..HA!
  19. As y'all know I've been missing for the past few weeks. It sure is nice now that winter is finally gone in NE Wisconsin. Gotta get get the "to do" list done ASAP otherwise there will be no summer to enjoy. The first of many fly-in breakfasts' of the year is occurring this Saturday morning. Normally outta there by noon ( our flight @ 1:00 lcl ) which gives plenty of time to get home. A few weeks ago I found this site ( http://www.classicwings.net/ ) with some real rare aeroplanes.. For this week I picked an Aussie designed classic. "The" Corby Starlet. It's a lil bugger,18.5' span / 14.75' length, simple, & VERY nicely done! I did do a performance mod, took out the VW 1800 cc 80 hp & dropped in the Jabiru 2200 @ 85 HP. 5 more! In Aussie style! Here's the "lil bugger" next to a horse for a size comparison.. One does not climb in, rather, one puts it on. Really hope to make this one, everything is all set up. All that needs to be done is to feed the hamster which turns the wheel that makes my rig run. But...... If an invitation arises to go fly some real classics ( or an RV, Beech 18 ) after the breakfast - I will be missing.
  20. See this thread over at FSDeveloper, it is based on the PT 154 source code. For FSX/P3D Win7 / Win8 + under Win7 compatibility mode. http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/the-kln90b-for-fsx-prepar3d-in-beta.432845/
  21. Sorry guys - will not be able to make todays session. Have a great flight!
