  1. I see the 208 HD is available now and it states new serial number required and the serials have been sent to vendors. Yet, I don't see fspilotshop having a serial number at all. Maybe too early? Does anyone know?
  2. Yep, should not be complaining, I did have some music on my android phone. I think it was a -900, the plastic seemed newer and the overhead bins droppped down. I just got back on definitely an 800, the overhead bins did not move. I used to fly 10 hour flights JFK to Athens/Rome then Cairo without IFE in the 80s. I remember those plastic drooping headphones. You only recognized one song on the of the channels.
  3. I flew from KEWR to KLAS last week on United. We were on a 737-800/900. It was a 5 hour painful flight in Premium economy. There was no inflight entertainment system. It was an empty hole with magazine, menu, barf bag and safety info. On top of that physical comfort was out the window. The seats have no cushion, and have somewhat of a hole (kind a bucket like support) with a bar of sorts sticking you in the rear. The back curvature was awful too. I flew on a 737 recently as well and had similar awful seat. Is this what is becoming of flying? A couple years ago it was a 757 with IFE and reasonable seats. Living in northern NJ we only have one descent option for flying and that's EWR. I really didn't want a stopover adding another 2 plus hours to a long flight with another airline.
  4. I made the mistake and got the none EX version, I think it was actually on sale. Must get the EX soon.
  5. I would think this works http://vpilotai.boards.net/ In order to see anything, you must sign in. I also believe you'd want to run vmrgenerator aftre you get all the models installed.
  6. I saw something this past year that even though you clear cookies yada, that your browser has a uniqueid that identifies you, so they can still track you.
  7. There was a short lived show on tv about guys that ferried planes to various distant places. It seems to be very routine thing to do.
  8. As an intense economy watcher, I came across this https://seekingalpha.com/article/4112677-boeing-787minus-10-biggest-dream that you might like to read.
  9. So, the Supervisor may say to the controller working a certain sector "make aircraft separation 15 miles in trail at Broadway (intersection)". When it was 5 miles in trail at Broadway previously. Most likely this means that the runway or other sectors are getting very busy and they need to slow your sector arrivals up. Maybe even the weather such as thunderstorm is occurring.
  10. ATC likes to use speed control as well. With VATSIM one of the guys for NY ARTCC got ahold of some NY information and found they have gates so controller can have like X number of aircraft passing each gate per minute to satisfy the one (maybe two) runways at NEwark landing, which can accomodate 60 aircraft max per hour. If they have two runways, it might be near 80, but they are really pushing it. Of course that's under VFR conditions and light winds. So, if a controller starts getting too many aircraft he can start slowing planes down and if needed to call up his neighbors and tell them to slow as well (and even those lovely ground stops you hear about). I believe this is called metering. Then there is rarely a need for holds. I remember flying into EWR from the SW a couple of times and the pilot saying that we were being slowed over DC. I think mach speed slowed .74 at that point.
  11. Was it as cold as a freezer? I had my medium weight jacket and a blanket over my legs and feet on a United 767 from Newark to Heathrow this past Summer. What a painful flight.
  12. Are you on p3d v4? I don't see where to get the updated C208 from Carenado.
  13. PA-44 was used by ERAU Prescott for dual engine training. Good thing it's my 50th tomorrow, the wallet is open.

    New wheels

My parents almost always bought GM, so me too. They did have two Lincoln Town Cars, which I drove to Florida with my mom a couple times from NJ. I had a Saturn SL2. I really disliked not having cruise control and perhaps more importantly, when it snowed somehow snow got stuck in the Springs leaving you no shock absorption until someone blasted it out with hot water. That got old quick. So I got a black 1997 Grand Prix (four doors). That was a great car. I didn't care for the front grill-it was that early model flat /no grill. I then got a 2002 Grand Prix GT (two door coupe). The stereos were pretty good in them. The bass was very good. https://www.amazon.com/photos/share/raqi4Nlv0ZbLUBwigMjlkcj44h1kfKUW6heQfyWWw2O One day I was going up a snow covered hill in New Jersey and started sliding, I thought I had enough of that. Also, I was kind of tired of feeling like I was sitting on the road as it was kind of low to the ground. I also had some back problems, so any movement was wrenching my muscles. I knew I wanted a car that had a smoother ride like the Town Car, but needed some sort of AWD. So, I got a Cadillac CTS4 (All Wheel Drive). It's like a tank in the snow. My mom always wanted a Caddy, but my dad shied away due to the transmissions issues. I hope she is riding with me. The Bose stereo lacks bass so I added an 1,000 watt mono amp and two 10" Infinity subs. Gas mileage is good at 31 on the highway. My next car is either ATS4 or a used CTS4 again. If I didn't have to drive to work, I'd get a hybrid like the Volt My wife has a Corolla S. The S has a tighter suspension so going around curves in our Jersey hills makes for some fun driving. She had some Mitsubishi in Brooklyn, but got rid of it quickly as it's soo expensive to have them there and she could get around on buses and trains.
  15. I looked at their updates page and don't see anything. Where do I get it?

    First Flight

We were on our European vacation. The one I remember was flying KLM from London to Amsterdam around '76/77. I don't remember the model of the plane, maybe a 737. We did that because we had taken the ferry. My mom and dad got sick. We arrived at the dock sometime well after dark. We had reserved a cabin, but they claimed there were no cabins--only for the crew. So, we had to sit in airline style hard seats in the bow. So, I remember we did fly KLM on the way back. We fell asleep. When we woke up, my sister was no where to be seen. We knew she had gotten on the plane. Once found, she said the pilot said there were seats up front to stretch out and she gone up there. I think that was a DC-10. Oddly, I think we flew MArtinAir from the USA and KLM back.
  17. Air Hauler really helps you discover the lands. I remember having an operation in the Northeast USA and flying between fells on approach in my C208. What a thrill it was.
  18. The other one might be JFK to LIRF or LGAT (yes the old one) and try to spot people (topless) on the beach.
  19. KJFK-HECA. Leave at 2130 local and force yourself to get up just before the descent over Alexandria and view the Pyramids of Giza on final approach.
  20. Pretty sharp, I feel like I am there. Though the yellow fronts usually are much more dirty.
  21. Last year when leaving Dublin, after getting into the line to check-in, someone approached us and started having a conversation with us. We thought it was very cool, but realized they were profiling us. We were completely caught off guard. The last time I was profiled was in Cairo going to Tel Aviv in 1985, give or take a year, by El Al Airlines.
  22. I hope your urine color is is clear once you start doing it again. Darker color is indicative that you are dehydrated and pretty much bad for you. True ya, since 9/11 the airport experience has gone down the toilet. Now more and more people have tsa-precheck making it even more crazy. There are less airlines to choose from-Continental always had a strangle hold on Newark so prices are painful.
  23. My wife prefers the aisle, so I get the middle seat We used to fly Virgin out of Newark day time flight to London, but they don't have it anymore. We would fly Premium Economy which has wider seats and only two per row. So, then I would have the window. I'm turning 50, so there may be a first class flight again some day.
