  1. Valid point. Additionally much of the information gleaned from successful beta tester mods can be used by LR to finalise XP11. Jay
  2. HiAre you able to obtain a list of the corrected bugs from the developer so that we can avoid reporting them again? Jay
  3. Thanks for that info. What is the source of your information? Jay
  4. Why don't you try the x-plane 10 demo and see for yourself? I've not done any night flights but will let you know. Jay
  5. Amazing shots! Which airport/scenery is that? Jay
  6. If you fly in VR consider moving to X-plane http://www.avsim.com/topic/497473-if-you-fly-in-vr-consider-moving-to-x-plane/ Jay
  7. Well said! And that's exactly the crux of the issue-that high flat screen resolution in no way matches the sense of presence and immersion with vr-that dimension just doesn't exist on a 2d monitor Jat
  8. Hi there Flyinside has been released officially for x-plane so there is a demo for anyone to try. One needs to zoom in to read dials accurately but this does not detract from immersion Jay
  9. Perhaps someone could change the title of this thread to reflect the fact that Voxatc 7 beta is NOT alive anymore Jay
  10. Not so sure about those subtitles mate Jay
  11. Hi there I'm beta testing FI for x-plane 10.It's pretty polished at the moment and nearing release. I think X-plane 11 will have VR support. You could register on the flyinside forums and pm the developer if you want to beta test as the tester list is now closed. Like you I have a lot of money sunk on P3D and FSX but am fed up of the CTDs and VAS issues. I'm saving my money for x-plane add ons now. And Radar contact and PF3 can be made to work with Xplane. Also there are so many mods and sceneries that are free on the X-plane.org site. If you do make it as a beta tester for VR you can try/buy X-plane 10 and get a free upgrade to 11 on release as long as you use the x-plane.com store Jay
  12. Guys I feel for you. I've been caught up in this loops too.Tweaking endlessly in vain rather than flying.I've moved to x-plane and it looks like it's great for vr.The FI for x-plane is in beta and is looking good. Tweaking days will be behind us soon Jay
  13. Does this have an offline mode or is it sending info to an external server? Jay
  14. I beg to digress.Because I use VR exclusively I have migrated to x-plane from fsx and p3d in view of its 64 bit benefits.I feel x-plane is the way forward for VR simming.Jay
  15. That's a VAS problem by definitionJay
  16. It's a shame the hotfix does not address VAS directly. But maybe expecting this from a 32 bit sim is unreasonable. I won't be installing this one methinks. I think 64 bit is the way forward-certainly for me-because I fly in VR now and need all the VAS I can get.. X-plane 10 and the upcoming 11 version have got my attention now and I am using X-plane much more than P3D. Jay
  17. Interesting article indeed-I will buy the bit on addictive potential! However for moderate use and if your visual system in healthy in the first place the side effects are likely to be minor and transient. At least that's my experience Oddly in my first cursory reading i don't think there was a mention of VR sickness which usually gets better with time and by avoiding rapid changes in view. But unless one tries it for themselves there's no way of knowing is there? And like any new technology one will only learn about the full implications if any over many years. i guess 5 years from now we will know for sure-but for now it's a great ride! Jay
  18. No one knows-with VR you are a "first adopter". The lower resolution VR experience still beats a high res 2D on anyday! Jay
  19. The Vive has settings for adjusting for glasses and for IPD if I'm not mistakenJay
  20. I don't need glasses :-) Ive got used to the HMD and forget it quickly once inside the simJay
