  1. Hi Jacoba,I am not sure if you have placed your order as yet, but I am just like you. I have no confidence in building my own machine and over clocking etc. I have gone out on a limb here and ordered an over clocked machine from Digital Storm. The company has fabulous reviews and it is costing me a bomb to have one shipped to me here in India. I am expecting the delivery some time next week. I don't mind spending the premium as long as I get a machine that works FSX solidly straight out of the box for me. You might want to check out their systems as well.Cheers,Dinshaw.
  2. Spot on Matt, did try what you said and it is correct. I have seen this before on the CDU with the values being different when Packs are on and then off. Just never realized it was translated in to the reference N1 value. Thanks a lot for pointing that out. In addition, the difference coincidentally was about 0.9% which is about the right differencec in N1 with packs on or off. I do feel like a roya idioit now Cheers, Dinshaw.
  3. Hey guys, Once again, thanks for this master piece :) My question to you is this: Can you post some suggestions for the sensitivity settings for the Saitek Pro yoke and Rudder Pedals ? I know that there are so many different hardware controllers out there, it is impossible to satisfy everyone. I also realize that even if two people have the same hardware controller, the wear and tear will be different. Even then, is it possible to give us some ball park figures to set our Saitek controllers sensitivity through FS. I know lots of folks must be setting their sensitivity through FSUIPC as well which adds further variables to the mix :) Cheers and happy landings, Dinshaw Parakh.
  4. Thanks Frederic, much appreciated :)Dinshaw Parakh.Matt, thanks a lot. That could be the problem too. As far as I remember the packs were on. But like you said, that could have been my mistake. I can simulate that and check. I would feel like such an idiot if that was an oversight on my part :) just goes to show what Ryan and Robert et al were saying, don't think what you see is a bug. Hehehehe......Cheers,Dinshaw Parakh
  5. Hi Frederic, this has nothing to do with the throttles. I am talking about the green colour N1 value which is displayed above the N1 gauge for each engine. Under normal ops, this value is derived by the auto throttle from the FMC. That is why as soon as I input an assumed temperature, the FMC will calculate the reduced thrust take off N1 and display that as the reference N1 for both engines. What happens here is that one engine is showing the value for the reduced thrust and the other is showing the value for the full thrust at the current OAT. as you know, reduced thrust is only fooling the computer to calculate the full thrust for the engine at the assumed OAT.Cheers,Dinshaw Parakh
  6. Yes Alfredo, that was the first thing I checked thinking that was the problem, but it was in auto.Dinshaw Parakh
  7. Hi guys,I am not sure if any body else has this problem, but here goes. The reference N1 numbers for my engines are showing different values for each other. if I select an Assumed temperature, then one engine shows the reduced thrust N1 while the other shows the full thrust N1 value. For example, if the full thrust N1 is say 94.6 and reduced is say, 92.4. One engine shows 94.6 and the other 92.4. Is this a bug or is this how it is on the real aircraft ?Cheers,Dinshaw Parakh.
  8. Same here ran, but I think (assume) the activation is also tied in to the e-commerce section which has been taken down till the "battle" is over. I know how you feel, but at least we should be happy that we have got all the files and she is already installed. There are a lot of people who have been charged on their CC and Paypal accounts, but who are yet to be able to download the NGX. Besides, even if the 2 were not tied in, I would think, and rightly so, that our problem will be a much lower priority than those who have paid but are yet to succesfully download the file. Cheers, Dinshaw Parakh
  9. Hey Robert, Thanks so much for the reply which I genuinely appreciate you reading my query. I am indeed grateful that you are still scouting the forums and helping us in spite of my question being a low priority one. This is where PMDG shines, after sales service and support. God bless you all ! Dinshaw Parakh
  10. +1 Well said Mike !! Now who said lawyers are only out to screw you :) Just kidding. I think in these moments, PMDG needs all the support it can get from us, instead of bickering. If we have waited so long, a little more is no gonna hurt. Dinshaw Parakh
  11. Hi Vin, Thanks for the latest update. I managed to download the NGX to my computer this morning before I left for work (In India). As I will be home for lunch and plan to install it on my machine, will I be able to do so as you have just said that the e-commerce and support sections have been taken off line. Will I have to wait for them to come back on line, or can I go ahead and run the install in about 2 hours time ? I know you must be very busy with the fire fighting, so if you can get a chance to answer this, I would highly appreciate it, if not, I totally understand :) Best wishes, Dinshaw Parakh
  12. Wonderful news. Thanks once again guys, PMDG rocks !! Dinshaw Parakh
  13. +1 Yes, Thanks a lot Ryan and Pete for including Spice Jet for us Indian Simmers :) Much appreciated Cheers, Dinshaw Parakh
  14. Hey Nick,First off, your videos are excellent, especially as you say they are unscripted and off the cuff. Thanks for taking all the time and effort to show all of us what we can expect. We have only been hearing about the numerous path breaking and out of the box programming done for the NGX. I guess, seeing is beleiving (not that I doubted anything in the first place ).In the last video, you showed all of us the fantastically modeled Yaw Damper. My question to you is, now can we uncheck Auto Co-ordination in the realism settings and still get co-ordinated turns on the NGX ? If so, this would be music to my ears especially in single engine ops and in de-crabbing. This was always one of the things I hated in FSX and earlier versions when flying airliners. Thanks once again for all your videos. Can we anticipate any more before release? I know it is just a few days away, so it may not make any sense to ask for more. We can see for our selves Cheers,Dinshaw Parakh

  16. Good question. Can you tell if the Supp Nav Database is modeled. Will we be able to make our own waypoints ? dinshaw parakh
  17. Thanks for the list Ryan, extremely comprehensive...:Applause:If I may, us simmers in India are not represented. Either Jet Airways, AI express or Spice Jet would be very welcome. I understand that this is not the complete list. If any of these are not on your complete list, then could you please add one of them at least ? Also, how come no PMDG livery in the list Cheers,Dinshaw Parakh
  18. Hey guys,Great news and fabulous pricing. I was also thrilled to note about the forward and reverse functionality approach across products that you are taking. I think this alone reassures me that the NGX will be a constantly evolving add on with much to look forward in the future. If I may ask, will you guys be keeping pace with future developments of the real NG ? For example, if there is a new FMC update, say 10.9, will you guys be also providing us with a similar update some months later ? Just another suggestion. As you have an MoU with Boeing, could you put up a page on your website with regards to any operating procedures that Boeing might change from time to time. For example, the center tank fuel config procedures and alternate method of compliance as suggested by Boeing. Once again, wishing you all the success that you richly deserve.Dinshaw Parakh.
  19. Great to read the same...Looking forward to the impending release :)All the best Robert et al for the roll out and wish you all the success that you deserve (and more!)Dinshaw Parakh
  20. Hey Paul,Yes, VNAV is selected as VNAV SPD is annunciated on the FMA on the HUD screen. Anytime the aircraft is in a climb with VNAV engaged, the AT mode will always automatically engage in N1 and the light will illuminate on the MCP. I also highly doubt there will be a "flaw" at such a late stage of development, but anything, however small, can slip through a crack. That is why I asked if it was an older screen shot where this "flaw" may not have been rectified as yet.Another thing is that that this could be one of the "failure" items. Maybe the N1 light bulb is fused and hence the switch is not lit. We all know that the FMA is the only "credible" source of information as to what mode the AFDS is in. One would never rely on lights and indications on the MCP, only on what is showing on the FMA. Considering PMDG is programming a revolutionary failures engine, this could be one of those things . Not really a failure as much as a maintenance issue.Cheers,Dinshaw
  21. Hey Ryan,This is a great picture of the HGS system and an overall great screen capture. I was wondering, was this taken a while back or recently ? The reason I ask is that N1 is annunciated on the FMA but the N1 switch on the MCP is not lit ? Or are these the kind of small things that the wide beta team are supposed to catch ? I hope this also goes to show the people who are impatient for the release that it "ready when it is ready" !! Cheers,Dinshaw Parakh
  22. Thanks for the great photos Kurt. Just curious, were you able to test the FD bar pop up feature above 80 Kts on Take off? If yes, could you post some photos of that as well if possible ?Cheers and happy testing Dinshaw Parakh
  23. Hey Cam,Sorry, no pictures as examples. I have not seen it, only read about it somewhere. Funnily enough, I was mentioning this to my friend who is a TRE on the type and he said that he had never heard about or noticed this either. The next day, he told me that coincidentally his FO that day asked him why a certain blue panel light seemed brighter than the other. He recalled our conversation just the previous day and told the FO that the above voltage difference could be the reason. Either way, if Robert or any of the team members could comment on this, given the wealth of information they must have gleaned from Boeing about this aircraft, it would be great.Regards,Dinshaw Parakh.
  24. Hi Cam,Thanks for the answer, but I think you mistook my question. The dim and bright that you are mentioning is correct with regards to incorrect valve / switch position or valve in transit. What I am trying to say here is that the actual intensity or brightness of some of the blue lights is more than the others. This is because some are powered by 24V DC and some by I think 31V DC if my memory is correct. :Thinking:Cheers,Dinshaw Parakh
