  1. I would say, if you get the CLS 767 and start to love the plane, you'll wish you had the LD 767.I'm so disgusted with Captain Sim , I wouldn't go near their 767.BobKMEMwww.flyworldva.com
  2. I'm having the issue as well.If one of the developers wants to poke around in my system via Win7 remote desktop, they are more than welcome to.Just contact me to set it up.Best regards,Bob BernsteinKMEM
  3. For what it's worth, auto coordination/rudder turned on? I had that problem with the -400 only to find out I had the coupled rudder checked. When I turned my yoke, the nose wheel turned. When I pressed the pedals, the nose wheel behaved erratically. I unchecked the option and life was good .... other than feeling shame for flying so long with that turned on. :)Just a guess, but maybe.BobKMEM
  4. I have the same thing from several different computers on different networks. Captain Sim is THE most frustrating company to deal with. They don't listen and they move slowly.
  5. How about the 747 in the movie Soul Plane. :( LOL
  6. I always dreamed of buying an old war bird and going on the air show circuit. What a retirement hobby that would be.F4U Corsair. Hell, might as well buy a carrier to go with it so I can do some fishing.Chances of me having either one of them are about the same. :(
  7. I actually like the "earth" concept MS was planning.I would love to drive a car down Interstate 40 and watch FS traffic overhead.Or fire up the rail sim and haul goods to the ports and watch the sim ships and cranes in the ports.Once the engine is done, developers could plant almost anything they want on the surface. How about a house building sim, government sim (sim city???) or a gumball rally.I hope to see that one day.BobKMEM
  8. I share your thoughts Ryan. I'm ready to settle in with FSX and let the users and 3P developers catch up and stabalize their work.If FS-11 came out, I would have to get it (Meds don't help that problem.)Then it would be useless without add-ons, then I would need hardware when the add-ons come etc. etc. etc. Same thing every couple of years.I'd like to have more than 2 PMDG products to fly before I have to upgrade. :)It will be nice knowing FSX won't end up on the bookshelf with Jet, Chuck Yeager AFT, FS3 through FS9, Fly!, Flight Assignment ATP, Pro Pilot and 2x wives. :( BobKMEM
  9. Great assessment. That's where I am as of today. Once the flight is designated as the "default" flight, the panel starts with engines running despite where it was saved on exit/save.If the fligt is not saved as default, then loaded, the panel state seems to open with engines off. That's either a bug or a weird limitation.I always resume my flight from the last airport and I like to put the panel state either C&D or ready for the next leg depending on where I am. Starting up (with the defalt saved flight) and having the panel where I left it would be optimum.I don't know what else we can say about this other than cross-checking our sanity to make sure we're not missing a sequence here that would help us. Seems it is what it is.BobKMEM
  10. Dan - if that's your answer you don't understand the question. The question put more simply is:Can one start the MD-11 with a cold and dark panel? It seems even if the default flight is saved with the engines shut down, next time FS is started, the MD-11 has the engines running. So - is there a CFG file somewhere a panel-state file can be specified or is there a way to designate a certain panel state to be the default when launching the MD-11?If your solution is start with the Cessna - then the PMDG answer must be no. Seems some have tried to save the panel state along with the flight after shutdown but that doesn't work.So it's either: no the PMDG doesn't start with engines off, or it does and many of us are looking for the procedure. Is there an answer?BobKMEM
  11. I've been successful with DX-10 - BUT - there has been some minor decay of the textures just as I finished the flight.Of course, half the stuff installed supports DX-10 and the other half doesn't. So I'm pretty busy changing things around.Previously, I had the OOM issues. I upgraded to 4gb and Vista 64 with 2x2 DDR2 and the OOM issues went away and this texture problem started to occur.I believe they are related and the end failure depends on the hardware configuration.I haven't heard one comment from PMDG on this, but there's a growing group of users experiencing the same problem.I'm not sure if they're working on this, have never seen it, don't believe us, or chose to ignore the problem. But I'd like to know the developers take on this. For everyone who wants to chime in "i don't have that problem", thanks, but I get it. Not everyone has the problem.System specs 680i SLI, GX2, 4gb 1066mhz, Q6600, Vista Ult 64, FSX.Bob
  12. Just an update.I questioned myself if I see it with DX10 and MyTraffic properly set for DX10.Set DX10 in FSX and Installed My Traffic with the DX10 aircraft and schedule.I flew back home in the 747X. Did a flight (accelerated 8x (the shame)) from PANC to KMEM yesterday and didn't have the issue.Granted the Textures load slow in DX10 on top of an inverted FSX logo - but no degredation of graphics over time.Could it be a DirectX issue?I will spend some time with the DX10 settings turned on - but I seem to remember it happening with DX10 turned on as well. The system spec comparison is helpful.More results after my flights.BobKMEM
  13. I have this with both the PMDG 747X and the MD11X. And this is the EXACT problem well described below.I can't do a long flight and once I start using the menu system in FSX, the graphics slowly start to deteriorate.I'd like to see a separate thread only for people with the exact same problem and everyone puts their system specs forward including scenery add-ons. I fly the 747x and MD11 almost exclusivley and my sim time is seriously going down because I waste hours on a flight only to have the screen go black. I landed in PANC after a 7 hours flight on a surface of baby-blue void. If I had touched the menu system, it surely would have gone black.System Specs: Quad Core Q6600 - no overclock EVGA Nvidia 680i SLI Motherboard NVidia 9800GX2 - no overclock (I can provide settings if needed) tried all drivers from 175xx to 180xx Windows Vista 64 Ultimate Live Onecare AV (I changed from BitDefender to see if that was the issue) 4gb Patriot 1066 DDR2 (2x2gb) Soundblast XTreme w/ 64bit drivers (changed from realtek onboard drivers to see if that was the issue) FSX Addons: PMDG MD11X and 747X FS2 Crew for 747 and MD11 and LDS767 LDS 767 Active Sky X (recently added X Graphics to see if it was a FSX texture) Blueprint (KMEM, KCLE, KIAD, KMSP) Aerosoft (KASE, EGLL) My Traffic X (tried both DX9 and DX10 models) Shockwave 3d Lights Redux Sibwings Safir Wilco (737, Airbus Ser 1 and 2 and A380) (recently added after PMDG symptoms) Probably Irrelevant but should mention: Logitech G5 Mouse Saitek Pro Flight Yoke Saitek X52 Stick (I'm just that crazy - won't fly a stick plane with a yoke) CH Rudder Pedals USB Logitech G15 keyboard. It's all out there. Anything common for thise with the EXACT symptoms. The reason I stress exact symptoms (as quoted below) is often someone with similar symptoms throws the thread a different direction.I believe many of us have this problem. Thanks,Bob
  14. When auto-coordination is turned on, the wheel turns with your yoke/stick rather than your rudder pedals. If you turn off auto-coord, then you'll see the front wheel turn while taxiing.Check that out.Bob
  15. Seems you've added less value than me. You didn't answer the question either. My point was (aside from the rant), save your money and don't bother with the AD product. It looked like the X version was under consideration by the OP.If it was already purchased, then I misread. What was your point? Just being a forum cop?Bob
  16. Whenever I see a product touting "the best this" and "the best that", i get suspicious. He's the snake oil salesman of the commercial aircraft developers. Here's a guy who runs a business from his garage and makes it look like he has corporate offices.I overpaid for the 737-900 to begin with because it was the only commercial (and might still be) NG on the market.I uninstalled it to make a fresh FSX install, and when I reinstalled it, it would not activate anymore.By the way - the activation process is a mix between paranoid programming, confusing, and insulting. There's actual an "activation for dummies" guide that is inaccurate and contradicts all the other instructions. So when I go to reinstall, the key won't work any longer and he wants to charge $20 to reactivate saying reactivation's aren't in his budget. Then the liveries are another add-on that you pay for. No paint kit. And a long paragraph of BS on how end user repaints would make his product unrealistic.Too bad - nice plane - almost worth $30 - not $100 + limited liveries + engine packs - $150 - $175?There's many dead switches on the plane and the FMC is sub-par compared to other products.Read the defensive and sarcastic language in the manuals and you will see he's miles from the other professional companies.Bob

If you>are a fan of collecting and installing a bunch of AI as do I,>there is one draw back of the these time features. 20. I suffered with this problem and it progressivley got worse.Running Vista Ult 64 on 680iMLB GF9800 and 4gb on FSX.Took a chance uninstalling my AV software (BitDefender) and the problem went away.Reinstalled BitDefender and problem is still gone.Caveat is I upgraded to 64 bit, then went up and down on my ram size.4x1gb was not stable in FSX for me. So I had a unique situation compared to others I suppose.2x2gb was very stable, however, I think BitDefender got confused in the up/down process of troubleshooting my memory. My point is, Vista seems finicky when it comes to changing things around. If all the ingredients aren't perfect between Vista and FSX and your other software, it may result in any number of symptoms. So with the big issue out of the way .... I need to figure out why the MD-11 messed up my 747... ... Still haven't found the silver bullet on that one. If anyone else has, please send me a PM.Best of luck sorting out the low-mem / OOM.

I'd like to hear if they've explored/experienced this issue and if there's an alternative fix.
  22. Without a doubt - Pete's advice fixed clutter on my HDD and a few stutter issues. I'm glad you made this post.My fault for checking boxes and not following up the impact.BTW - Kudos to Pete Dowson. He's extremely responsive and genuinely curious about potential conflicts and bugs. All around great guy.
  23. Ditto for me on this problem.Installed the MD-11x.747-400x has a blank main panel and the mini-icons are not clickable. PMDG menu is not available - nor does the FMC database load.MD-11 is fine.Uninstalled both. Reinstalled both - same result for 747.Ran "repair" on 747 - no luck.FSX / Vista 64 / Geforce 9800 GX2 / 680i SLI /4gb (2gbx2)Other add-ons = ASX and F.O.C
  24. >this opens the question why PMDG is publishing a product which>is NOT complete... PMDG: Hey Boeing - can we have the T/O DataBoeing: NoPMDG: Please?Boeing: NopePMDG: Maybe in the future?Boeing: Can't say.PMDG: Okay everyone - scrap the MD-11 project. We don't have takeoff charts. That was your expectation?
  25. Twice in a row, I've pressed the "Timer Button" (Far Left Main Panel) which resulted in a CTD Application/Kernel.exe failure.I pushed the button during taxi both times. Not much more to tell. Here's my setup:Vista Ultimate 64Q66004gb OCZ PC8500GeForce 9800 GX2Don't make fun of me, but I put a fresh OS and FSX install after the release. :)Installed Ad-ons:FSUPIC 4.0PMDG 747XPMDG MD-11FSX Acceleration PackModel MD-11F PWI'll try the GE model tomorrow, however if anyone has experienced the same or it's a known issue, please let me know. This will help me understand if I have a system problem or not. Thanks and Safe Flying!
