  1. Is something about to.... happen? :DGeoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  2. dittto :) Didn't know it wasn't just me!Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  3. Hi All!Just a quick thought: Wouldn't it be great to be able to fly the addon over a Multiplayer game, where another person can also control your plane and be your copilot. I don't think this has been tried before, probably because most people don't have someone else that is also willing to 'play' (I very conveniently have an interested brother). It would be even more interesting over the net. What do u guys think? Good idea or waste of time? ;)Counting down like everyone else :-jumpyGeoffrey Balean(YSCB)http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
  4. There doesn't seem to be a section in MSFS anymore, however if you go to the EFIS panel to the top right hand knob where you can change the altimiter pressure setting, move your cursor just a bit further up and to the right until you still get a hand cursor, but no plus / minus. Clicking now should make millibars show in the PFD :)Hope that was clear enough, I think it is in the pdf documentation somewhere if not.Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
  5. Hi!Very nice livery!! :9 Since when did you have the option of that 'Developer' signature pickie? :)Geoffrey Balean (YSCB):)->
  6. Very 'nifty' :-eek :-wave Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  7. ditto :D Anyone out there please make Australian scenery!!!!!Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  8. Truly great shots, especially on final :D The rain is nifty.Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  9. Hi Philipp!Correct me if i'm wrong ;), but doesn't this 1000fpm initial descent only apply to a plan descent (I normally don't push the DESC NOW button)? In speed descent, the plane will put itself at whatever attitude necessary to keep the speed you entered, in this case 330 kts.Maybe I'm completely off target however :)Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  10. > "The CH is really the way to go. I wouldn't pay a thousand dollars for a yoke and pedals. I'd much rather put that towards real lessons. :)"Here here (Bar the CH bit - haven't got them yet)!Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  11. Hi again!"And how do you compare the CH Yoke pedals against the twist function of 3D PRO? That is an illegal comparison ;) lol"lol He already has the rudder pedals :)The force feed back system on the WingMan Force 3D just didn't allow me to perform an accurate visual approach. The 3D Pro is much stronger and perfectly precise. Not at all on par with Microsofts pphh! lol That's a different debate anyhow :) "Sweeping generalisations with no substantial evidence!" - I like logitech stuff.Yes it is true it was good for combat flying but the only thing i've used was European Air War. Strangely, the next combat game I will get should come with the CH Yoke and Rudder Pedals package :)Thanks for all your comments! I like the little flamey icon beside it on the front page :(Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  12. Hi All!Jeepers! Go away for one second and all these replies start popping up! Well, the saga continues when I say that yesturday another member of my family (twin bro) bought a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, which doesn't have force feed back. I can very confidently say that this was many many many times better than the Logitech WingMan Force 3D! So much more precise. Why do so many people want to get force feed back that is that crummy. The new joystick literally costs half the price! If the CH Yoke pedals are better than the precision of the Extreme 3D Pro I'd be very impressed ;)And John, who wouldn't already have a subscription to Computer Pilot mag? It is just too good :DGeoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  13. Better colour! Not too grey, not to purple :) Do those lines normally indicate what course of action to take with a real TCAS RA? Also, what do these new buttons do exactly? I don't think I've seen/noticed them before on any pictures, although on my desktop I have a pickie of a 737 with panel patches where these are on your panel.Great work!Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  14. Thankyou very much to all for your quick but very detailed replies :)I must say, John's word was pretty much final ;) However, P
  15. Hi All!I am considering purchasing a new Yoke and Pedals from CH as my old Logitech Wingman Force 3d joystick rendered itself unusable after 4 years of great flying. It now constantly shakes when plugged in, even without force feedback activated - aparently a problem many have had with these, lucky it lasted so long. Aparently force feedback is probably not trouble-free yet, and still needs a bit more development.Anywho, do any of you guys use the CH Yoke or Pedals (USB)? What do you think of them? Would you recommend them (primarily for flying the PMDG 737 & C152. Don't want to spend heaps on expensive ones)? Please don't turn this into a joystick vs yoke debate etc, just tell me your opinion / problems / recommendations ;)Thanks a lot!Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  16. Hi!Would the error message be to do with the Departure or Arrival Procedures? This occasionally happens to me also when entering a ICAO code into the FMS. It should indicate an error on a particular line in the SID STAR file:[FS Directory]/PMDG/SIDSTARS/[icao_code].txtThis results in the FMS not displaying any procedures for the airport. You will need to get a new procedure file from say http://navdata.at, or possibly re-dowload the original zip file of all the procedures off the PMDG website.Hope this helped a bit ;)Geoffrey Balean (YSCB) - gbalean@emailme.com.auMSN: gbalean@hotmail.comNOTE: Please sign your true name at the bottom of each of your posts - see forum guide for details :)
  17. I had no idea that it was going to be this advanced :| Again and again, PMDG are implementing cutting edge technology into flight simulator. This should be a truely magnificent product! I can't wait!A pat on the back to all involved! By golly you'll be rich after this one releases!Geoffrey Balean (YSCB) - gbalean@emailme.com.auMSN: gbalean@hotmail.com
  18. Absolutely brilliant! A piece of art! Love the warning and fire lights on the glare now! Credit card ready!Do you know anything about how the weather radar is coming on?Thanks!Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  19. Hey, where's the Virgin Blue logo gone! Nuts, now I'll have to go to all the effort to insert it :) Nice find! Really makes you want an upgrade of the pedestal - 800/900 perhaps? You never know.Cheers,Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
  20. Hi All!Rob, Maybe you know something I don't on this (Qantas 737ng's seem to rarely come into Canberra, YSCB), but as far as I know Qantas 737NG's definitely don't have blue winglets ;)Absolutely fabulous livery John! By the way (probably in the wrong spot saying this here), I did a McAfee VirusScan today with the latest DAT and Engine version (Version 8.0, Build 8.0.26, Engine 4.3.20, DAT version 4.0.4339 - 17/3/04) and it has labelled a file in my special PMDG directory as a trojan called 'Unone'. I don't know whether this is a false positive, a livery installer from a 3rd party or something, but it is called 'AU_737NGv45.exe' and was spotted in both the PMDG directory and c:Documents and SettingsGeoffreyLocal SettingsTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5PB57MWLB as 'AU_737NGv45[1].exe'. It deleted it without asking me first :( Do you know what file this is / is it necessary? Just thought you'd like to know ;)Thanks again,Geoffrey Balean (YSCB) - gbalean@emailme.com.au
  21. Yet another vote for the Saab 340b! :)G Balean YSCB
  22. I'm not sure if this is correct, but based on other posts i've seen in this forum, it should work if you let the model fully load, then spin around a couple of times before pushing 'Fly Now'. Hope this also helps :)G Balean
  23. >Do you get "RESET MCP ALTITUDE" warning on your FMC...??? If so>reset the altitude to your new alt and the a/c will descend at the>TOD...>all the best and happy landingsNo, I set the MCP alt down to 3000 in the instance which I use (YSCB Canberra to YSSY Sydney) which is the altitude it should be at at when turning on final.I've been looking at other websites, and I tried a speed descent. This worked fine. However I'd still like to get the path descent working.Do you turn off the FMC so you can get to flaps 5 manouvering speed before turning on final? Thanks to all for your comments and a happy 2004!Geoffrey Balean
  24. G'day allI've been struggling with the descent-approach-landing part of the flight. My problem is, although I insert the wind speeds and the like to predict the descent path, it still requires the speed brakes to be deployed to get it down to 240kts below transition altitude. Once this is done everything goes fine until just prior to turning on final, where I have to disengage the FMS to slow it down from 240kts. I shouldn't be coming in at this speed surely?? Would I be doing the right thing disengaging the FMS at this stage? Should I be slowing down earlier?Basically, I need to know what should be done during descent, approach and landing in terms of the FMS, airspeed and disengaging systems (not the checklist). If you could help me on this matter it would be greatly appreciated. :D Thanks a heap,Geoffrey Balean
