  1. No! It was written up by a FSUIPC user and sent to Pete who included in a bundle. You can tweak it or remove what you want, but it's pretty well good as it is. Like Bob mentioned, you must use only one Friction LUA file. I use the dynamic file as it does not affect aircraft once you get over 30kts...it only works during taxi and does not affect takeoff run that has been programmed by the developer. To get it running, put the "DynamicFriction.lua" in your modules folder. In your FSUIPC.ini file, add the lines: This will start the LUA script once FSUIPC initializes. That's it. Easy Peasy.
  2. Do you see it in the task bar? It's probably minimized and won't come back up? Check the readme file...it tells you how to get it back up. I'm not at my home computer right now, so I can't remember the key presses, but I think it's "Alt-Space" if I recall correctly.
  3. Do you have flight level winds entered in the legs pages in the FMC so it can properly calculate fuel at destination?
  4. Now now Jim....it's FS98 reloaded!! Didn't you know??
  5. Navigraph Charts have been around for a while...I've been using them for nearly 5 years. They're great. In version 3, you had to use credits to get each chart. Once version 4 came out with the cloud option, this program really became a great value. Now with version 5 and the LIDO Charts, it keeps getting better and better.
  6. That's not Navigraph's fault. That's your governments' hand in the pot requiring Navigraph to collect their share for them...Navigraph doesn't keep it. Navigraph or any other vendor is not obligated to give a discount because you're taxed too much by your government!! It's just like if you purchase from a Canadian site, you won't pay GST, but I will. It's up to you as a European to voice your displeasure to your government representative if you feel like you're taxed too much!! B)
  7. Hmm..I don't have that problem. When you lift off, you climb out at v2+10 or so until you reach acceleration height. Once there, you lower the nose to start gaining speed. Using VNAV (or LVL CHG with the speed bug at 250) should do that for you. Vertical speed isn't that important while speeding up as long as it stays positive and you don't have obstacles in your way (which is another matter). Also, make sure you are not de-rating the climb thrust too much for the climb out.
  8. FSUIPC is working fine. You're reading it backward! FSUIPC reports how much VAS you have left. The lower the number, the more VAS you're using. Once you get to 250MB, you'll start hearing the OOM ping FSUIPC sends out.
  9. Hmmm. Odd. I'm running it in FSX-SE with no problems. When you mentioned the skeleton airplane, the first thing I thought about is the config program. What version are you using? I'm using the 1.18.5 version and it seems to be working OK. Other than that, I'm not much help!! Sorry! Hope you get it fixed.
  10. Did you run the EZCA Config.exe?
  11. I think Max is right...Microsoft made Windows protect itself from users who don't know what they're doing. Anything installed in the Program Files folder is guarded like a baby by her mother!! You can try turning of UAC if you haven't already. If that doesn't solve the problem, then like Max said, you'll most likely benefit by moving FSX to anywhere outside the Program Files folder.
  12. Try this: Go to your C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\FSX\Camera.cfg Look for the following and change the MomentumEffect to no (as in bold below) [CameraDefinition.002] Title = Virtual Cockpit Guid = {C95EAB58-9E4A-4E2A-A34C-D8D9D948F078} Description = This is the description of the virtual cockpit view. Origin = Virtual Cockpit MomentumEffect = No
  13. Like I said in my post, ...as in, most, not all. At most, you have 2D pop-ups, but the main panel is rarely done, especially in high-fidelity addons (PMDG, A2A, etc). I was with you a few years back...hated VC. Now, I can't remember the last time I used a 2D cockpit. But, I do understand it helps for those who have vision problems, etc to have a 2D cockpit. But, to answer your initial question, I doubt you'll see a 2D panel. Don't kill the messenger!! From what I remember in an earlier post (sometime in early 2015 by RSR), they will be separate.
  14. Not likely. Like you said, there is none in the 777. There is none in the 737NGX either. With both these birds, and most likely the 747v2, huge on VAS usage, 2D panels will only increase that footprint (each 2D panel uses VAS). With TrackIR and EZDok, most users use VC exclusively. Very few use 2D panels anymore (though I understand why they are wanted). Most developers don't make 2D panels anymore.
  15. Hi Roland, I think this is still backward: I was flying today with a significant wind (about 150 knots) and all the AI on jet routes were flying faster upwind (at about 600kts) vs those going downwind (at about 350-400kts). I think the additive is still backward or it was not wrong in the first place.
  16. It would be close enough. I don't know how the PMDG 744 will work with altering the cfg file. PMDG aircraft do not use native FSX fuel logic, so it may or may not work.
  17. A quick search on google yielded the answer: http://www.boeing.com/commercial/aeromagazine/aero_21/747ER_story.html
  18. Now I really can't wait for the PMDG 747v2!! Great find!
  19. Great shots. We have a place in Kona and we go every couple of years when work permits. I did that drive around the North side of the island two Christmases ago (is that how you spell it?!?!?) Anyhoo, you have great scenery showing the Rainy/Tropical side, on to the Waipio Valley, finishing with the "cowboy" country and arid Kailua-Kona. We're headed back this Christmas holiday. Thanks to you, it can't come soon enough!!! If only I could win the big lotto!!! I'd be there permanently!
  20. Agreed! The last dozen or so flights I've been on in the past year all have used spoilers in the descent. I never found it causes any real buffeting or discomfort.
  21. Hi Roland, I have a suggestion. The message indicating that the airport will not be monitored and with both of these messages: AIController took almost an hour to go through all these messages (lots of airports) before AIController even started...and this was only for the United States. Could this list be dumped instead into a txt file instead of being listed in the program. Maybe a quick line in AIController saying: "There are airports with broken links (or whatever problem). The complete list can be found in BrokenLink.txt" It would show once and then the program would continue to load, minimizing startup time? The problem with those messages above it it takes forever to get through them if there are many in the scenery files. Maybe, AIController can use these lists as an ignore list too...it checks the first time, but never checks these again if they are in the list? The SIDSTAR converter correction with the SID and Star waypoints seems to be working fine from what I can see with the few examples I have looked over. Thanks for the update!!
  22. "Quick like bull, smart like tractor"
  23. With Snapper, you can press Print Screen as much as you want. Each screen grab is saved on disk in the directory you specified in order (001, 002, etc) for you to later peruse or delete. You can also save your photos at any quality you want and even half-size them if you don't want the full screen size.
  24. I use Snapper....links to FSUIPC for position (closest airport or LAT/LONG) and embeds it into the photo if you want it. All you press is Print Screen and it takes care of the rest.
