  1. I strongly suggest a second monitor in order to undock the PFD and ND. Nearly all graphics cards offer multi monitor support now with 3 outputs, with next to zero effect on framerates.
  2. I too paid 5 bucks on Xmas day and it's the best purchase I ever made. SE is awesome IMO. Very stable, no blurries, CTD errors, etc. I won't be changing to P3D anytime soon. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  3. Rather than start a new thread, was just wondering what could be the issue with my Scotland S install. The whole of the Edinburgh region is under water? The scenery is noticeable on the high ground so it has installed but no idea why the region is waterlogged Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi Martin. I use a baseball cap on my head, loose. I think you have your sensor too close to the clip. I know the sensor is supposed to sit on top of your monitor but if, like me, you sit quite close, then you need to position the sensor further back. I placed a small shelf on my wall in the mid-distance and all is well now. I would suggest a distance of roughly 2 metres.
  5. No need. Do not install any drivers, do not calibrate. All works fine. Just plug in and follow this very simple tutorial. I have the same setup with the levers and everything works 100percent perfectly. This also allows Reverse Thrust' with the the throttle lever brought down to the bottom detent.
  6. Funny story that Mark. Lol. I never use mine for complex flying, ie, 737 NGX but do for rotary where I can just fly and not worry about mouse clicks every 5 secs.
  7. In a hold pattern for 2 hours. Assuming waiting for a break in the weather. Russia plane crash: Investigators recover flight recorders http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35850178
  8. Does that require alt / tab to flick between the sim and viewing the charts?
  9. I've just joined navigraph so ill be installing the latest AIRAC shortly. I just need to buy a bloody printer now for all the charts.
  10. Although it wouldn't allow me to enter it directly into the database, when I executed the route it then showed up.
  11. Many thanks Kyle, that's good to know. Only reason I ask is that I'm starting the tutorial 1 and it's asking to select the 'house winglets' version which I do not have as an option. Any ideas?
  12. I have just installed the NGX (all working fine) and was wondering if I need to also install the SP1D patch?
  13. Try adjusting your monitor's contrast setting to make it look less black. .
  14. No oom's or poor scenery for me with SE. I'll never make that very expensive jump over to P3D.
  15. Thanks for the info. Funny, actually, as the FMC did not recognise ESKDO, (final waypoint) before entering the STAR into Edinburgh.
  16. Thank you. Don't care though as FSX does not change.
  17. Thanks. Can I confirm that the Download version of the NGX is equipped with Nav Data?
  18. I've managed to put myself through refresher training on the FMC, as I've had a ten year break from FSX. I'm just trying to plan ahead so that when I purchase the NGX tomorrow I can input my route and off I go, so to speak, Sans ATC for the time being. A particular route planner gave me HON as the final waypoint (via UL612) for the arrival into Heathrow. Now I'm assuming, in real life, from HON you would be directed, by ATC, as far as as Bovingdon and entered into a hold pattern. Without ATC to then vector me to the chosen runway Loc and subsequent ILS, what is my best plan of action in terms of programming the FMC to arrive safely at the runway threshold? Thanks in advance.
  19. Set visibility to 10nm and uncheck any unused addon scenery in your library.
  20. I gave up trying to fly with the mouse / keyboard and figured I could never afford the hardware that I'd need to fly with relative ease. However, after lots of web searching I've purchased the following at a cost I'd never dreamed of. Most second hand. Is there anything else that could assist me, thanks for any help. Goflight MCP Virtual Avionics virtual CDU (iPad owned) Saitek throttle quadrant with single arm dual handles add-on kit V2 Rudder pedals (owned)
  21. Many thanks for your opinions. It seems that there are 2 to choose from. I'll go for the MCE trial first and see how I get on. I have severe problems trying to control an aircraft with a mouse, so anything that can assist would be most welcome. I'll take a look fnav77. Thanks.
  22. Are there any third party payware addons that can simulate the first officer duties for PMDG aircraft? Or even setup completely and fly the route if I'm feeling lazy, and also learn at the same time? Thanks for any help. Keith.
