  1. Nautical Air Miles?jt
  2. An .mdl is the actual physical model of the aircraft. It should be in the "Model" folder.I can't find a Schleicher ASW-28 on the site mentioned above.jt
  3. The PMDG is a full-procedure aircraft, while the iFly is not. It is still quite complicated, but it doesn't model nearly as many systems as the PMDG (or the RFP, which is now freeware). Also, good luck getting any official support for the iFly. That said, I enjoy flying both the iFly and the RFP.jt

    >I was trying to send a picture. How do I do it. I tryed>copying then post on this msge area but it won't let me>paste. When I go to step 3 it offers for me to browse, but>browsing don't give you pictures!!. This is important to me>because pictures save typing 100 words. Do you use YAFF? How>do i go to the picture of the file without copying? :-) You can browse to any type of file, including picture files. Also, you have already typed over 200 words in this thread. Perhaps you should just have a go at explaining your problem.jt
  5. Tom - Sorry to get off-topic here, but I just wanted to say that your tutorial was instrumental in my learning to repaint aircraft. I only repaint for myself, but it has brought me much joy to fly my own designs in FS. Thank you!jt
  6. Great article - just the right humor/information ratio. It also reminds me that the vast majority of the simming community is held together by volunteers. Thanks, everyone!jt
  7. A cursory internet search reveals:Release notes and version history through Service Pack 2.1 (SP2.1):Level-D Simulations B767-300ER ========================**** NEW FEATURES ****========================- pause at TOD option (in "Instructor" dialog box).jt

  9. Ah - compact install. Completely forgot about that. Good catch!jt
  10. >well default traffic file isnt even on my computer for same>reason yet it is still in the game. This is simply impossible.jt
  11. I use both - replacing the PAI packages with WOAI as they are released. Definitely check out PAI's AFCAD packages, a necessity when using any AI traffic.jt

  13. >Maybe you can advice me on this: does Airliner Pilot>works with FsPassengers?I have never tried it, as I only have the demo versions of each. I imagine it would work fine, though. Seems like a lot of money to spend for what you want to do, though. Anyone have a definitive answer?Joining a VA seems like a good idea.jt
  14. >umm, the definition above is not 100% correct. In FS9, it has>nothing to do with reflections.>>-fengReally? Well, ignore my comments, then. Thanks for the info.jt
  15. Maybe they provide more structure than you are looking for, but have you tried out Just Flight's Airliner Pilot or Cargo Pilot?jt

You didn't mention it, so I'll ask:Did you press the Alt key?jt
  17. One use for RTT in FS is to apply the environment map to a "reflective" surface, such as a bare metal aircraft or the surface of a body of water.jt
  18. Render to Texture, as per Answers.com:1. The rendered image is captured and subjected to Pixel Shaders or other computer manipulation. This allows for many of todays popular computer graphics effects to be carried out, including the addition of a blurring or bloom effect.2. Can be used to create views of other scenes, for example: a TV in a house. A scene can be rendered through an FBO to a texture, then that texture can be applied to the surface of a TV. This is sometimes called "Render to Texture" or RTT.Lens Flare is the effect you get when light sources interact with camera lenses - concentric circles that spread out from the light source. Kind of unrealistic in FS in my opinion, as I don't sim from the viewpoint of a camera, but from my own eyes.jt
  19. No - I've experienced this as well. Tracking a VOR or just flying under GPS NAV, the HSI indicates on-course, while a look at the GPS unit shows the aircraft diverging from the indicated track (the pink line). jt
  20. Greetings, all!I've been enjoying FS9 for a couple of years now and I have decided that I want to rectify some problems that annoy me.A few areas that I really enjoy flying in are dominated by spikes. I am currently trying to locate the tutorials/apps I will need to fix them. In the meantime, if anyone could give me a nudge in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Apologies if this is the wrong forum. Thanks for any help you can offer!jt
