Mist following plane. Already tried other threads.
It's done it in DX-10 mode as well, but I have the Precipfx now and can't remember if I have seen it since, seeing how Windows 10 Defender/Blender allowed the Trojan virus from way down south to enter my PC. Had to wipe the drive with zero's and reinstall my windows 7 image then back to windows 10 for more abuse. Make sure you have a good anti-virus if your on windows 10. I was accessing a HVAC forum and my pc was trashed by the virus. You can't get Microsoft Essentials on windows 10 as it is the dreaded Blender instead. Hope this helps. Bryan farmer

It's a bug in FSX. If you takeoff on a wet runway you will see the spray from the takeoff follow you. Bryan Farmer

I can't get the transparent white/grayish box's to go away on Orbx KJAC runway edge lights. I have tried different combinations of the fixer, but they remain. Any ideas would be great. Great little app though. Bryan

a few word says more than a thousand words?
I have REX and love what it does as far as textures go, but it can be a misbehaving weather engine when it wants to at times, but this OpusFSX gave me better depiction of weather and no crazy wind shifts in the PMDG 737NG. The cloud shifts seem more behaved than with REX. I think REX is a great weather program and I am completely happy with both. FSX weather engine is old and cantankerous, and I appreciate what all developers are able to do with it. Bought Opus FSX last night and could'nt be more happier. Thanks. Bryan

OrbX PNW and crashes around Seattle (KSEA)
You may want to try using the config entry under [sCENERY] to see if there are missing textures or objects that should be loading, but are not. These can cause problems sometime's. I tried around KSEA area and would get this texture that was failing to load called WESTSIM_MASTER-GENERIC_1_LM.BMP, but I was only flying during dusk and dark which would stand to reason that is a LM texture. Here is what the config entry should look like.[sCENERY]// To show alerts or areas, set to = 1 // To hide alerts or areas, set to = 0 // Alert for missing texturesShowMissingTextureAlert=1// Alert for missing objectsMissingLibraryAlert=11 shows the alert, and 0 turns it off. Hope this helps.Bryan Farmer

What a nightmare!
The link listed above is for the 32 bit version as it specifically does not mention the X64 version. Try this next link and its only 350 meg's large. I don't no where I got 517 meg's large from. Must be a senior moment.http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=enBryan

What a nightmare!
Sorry for not seeing your post early. I probably did'nt explain myself clearly. Go download Nlite on to your vista 32/64 bit or windows 7 32/64 bit and install it like any other application you would normally install. Then take your XP64 disk and while you are in windows stick it in the dvd drive and when the xp menu GUI window pops up just close it out. Now explore the disk by right clicking on the drive where the XP64 disk is and copy all the contents on the disk to a folder somewhere on your C drive. Name the folder somthing like XP64_pro. Now download the XP64 pro Service pack 2 for IT developer's which is not the same thing as the web update, but the actual sp2 in all its glory of 517 megs large to the same folder you made for XP64_pro. Now while still in windows open up your nlite, and follow the instructions to merge the XP64 pro contents with the SP2, and eventually as you go through the menu's of nlite your going to make a ISO. bootable XP64 Pro Service Pack 2 image that nlite will burn to a CD for you. When your done making the XP64 pro SP 2 cd just install XP like you would normally do using the CD you just made with nlite. If you want to duelboot your computor, just make sure to install XP first on a seperate partion or seperate drive, and vista or windows 7 on a different partion or seperate drive. The key here is if your duel booting you need to install XP first, then the other operating system. I hope this helps.Bryan

What a nightmare!
What you do is you take your new XP PRO 64 bit software CD and copy its contents to a folder of your choosing somewhere on C drive. You can name XP PRO 64 folder if you like. Then down load the SP 2 into this same folder. SP 2 is around 517 Mega bit's. Then install nlite on your computor, and follow the tutorial's from nlite on how to merge the two files together. You can even pre program your XP PRO 64 CD key into the install so that you don't have to enter each time you reinstall windows from your custom made CD. Best thing is do a little research on how to use nlite. This procedure is only if you bought a XP PRO 64 bit copy with out SP 1 or SP2. Nlite is a great software tool with a fairly easy to use GUI. I only suggested zapsoftware so you can save a little money, but if you would feel more comfortable buying the software from tigerdirect for more thats fine also. Either way you get the same result. Hope this helps. Bryan.

What a nightmare!
I was just going off what Nickn was suggesting about slipstreaming SP2 which he listed in his tunning guide and by the way this not a web update via windows update. I downloaded the SP2 as a packaged IT deployment seperately and merged togather using nlite. Here is Nick's statement from the tunning guide. "Those on the mentioned systems only have once choice and that is to SLIPSTREAM SP2 (or SP3) and make a WindowsXP SP2/3 install disk, then wipe the system clean and reinstall Windows from that new disk. From that point on you are no longer affected by the Microsoft issue."Hope this helps. Bryan

What a nightmare!
If you want a volume license copy of XP PRO 64 you can get it at www.zapsoftware.com for $69.00. It comes with SP 1 I think, and just use nlite to slipstream SP 2 and your good to go. This was the only way to get the black disappearing twxtures to go away for me. Hope this helps. Bryan

Black/disappearing textures? Some bizarre news ...
I was wondering if anybody has tried using EVGA Precision 1.8.1 app to slow down the core and shader clock a little to see if this helps. I have a BFG 9800GTX card that is not the overclock variety, but when I checked the speeds it was set to 9800GTX OC setting. I downspeeded the OC to what the default speeds should be and the missing /disappear textures stopped. The EVGA Precision 1.8.1 app also adjust the fan speed on the fly as well. Just an idea if you want to try. Bryan
