August 26, 201114 yr Hi Just want to say I did not discover this, I give credit to the op from this posthttp://forum.avsim.n...od-replacement/ Why do I post here, well because I am surprised this is not getting more attention. I love enb series but it has its issues not for all people I know but many get black screens when alt and tabbing accessing menus etc. Well I have downlaoded FXAA_PPI_Rev_37.zip from this page here http://www.assembla....nject/documents Its simple to install, you just put all the files in the directx 9 folder in to your FSX folder, (suggest removing ENB files 1st) and your good to go. It bascially allows you to adjust the appearance of FSX like ENBseries. You can adjust the settings on the fly, you just adjust the settings in the injFX_Settings file, then resize your FSX screen and the changes are instant. Its great! Now, I am no expert in what all the settings do but I have played around with the bloom settings for 20 minutes and my FSX is starting to look pretty good. Not quite ENB series yet but still much better than standrad FSX. But the best thing for me is no crashes when accessing menues or resizing screen or pressing alt and enter etc. So just wanted to mention this and also I hope some one who knows better than me can come up with settings to equal or better the ENB series effect. I am sure you can do it with this great little mod but not sure how! Cheers Keithy George
August 26, 201114 yr Author Just wanted to add. If you install just bear in mind that the default settings are not that impressive. They make FSX look dull so you need to adjust settings. Bloom settings gave a significant impact Keithy George
August 26, 201114 yr Moderator I saw a post about that in the hardware/monitors as well as the one you linked PMDG/NGX forum. I'm surprised that it hasn't garnered more attention so far.I'd be interested to see some screen shots in action, but if it's basically the same as or equal to the effects you get from the ENB mod, for me there's no reason to change since I have been fortunate to be able to use the ENB without any problems. After months of tweaking the ENB .ini, tweaking different palettes, and testing with different sky sets and comparing to realworld conditions i've photographed, I think I finally have mine set to about as real looking as I can get it and now should just leave well enough alone. Not to hijack but I think this close enough to the OT. I have been using ENB for quite a while but I have not played with the settings a lot. I think I am currently using a ini I found over at ORBX. I have been turning it off lately because most of my flying is not in high light areas like the Caribbean, Mexico, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean... I want to preserve the softening of the horizon and the haze that ENB simulates but I don't want to darken the panel or water textures. Any idea on setting or a good ini that has been posted? Or, are you willing to post you ini? August 26, 201114 yr Thing is though that it is using d3d9.dll and I don't know how to get this work with AntiLag which I am very happy with... Best regards, Alexander Rietveld
August 26, 201114 yr It looks nice no fps loss atm. Hey somehow it is not the same like ENB I don't get the lighting effect . Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

I want to preserve the softening of the horizon and the haze that ENB simulates but I don't want to darken the panel or water textures. Any idea on setting or a good ini that has been posted? Or, are you willing to post you ini?I originally started with FengZ'z .ini, then I tried Tim's from REX, then Johns from ORBX. Each one had things that I liked and things that I didn't like, so I started a fresh .ini and started adding bits and pieces from each one, until I though I found something I was happy with. For example, when I use Johns I think the Bloom is WAY overdone and gives the "blown out headlights" look as quoted from Ryan at PMDG. Then Feng's I liked but was too much darking, and on and on with each one.Plus the whole thing can completely change appearance depending on which daytime sky set your using, which palettle texture if any, and of course how your monitor is adjusted. Fortunately since I only work about 3 hours a day it leaves me way too much time on my hands in which I have used an inordinate amount of time loading and unloading sky sets, tweaking the .ini, looking outside at the sky, taking pics, etc. In a way it almost became an obsession for while, kind of like making AI can. As soon as I had it the way I thought I wasnted it, I would change it again, kind of like a never repeating pattern. Then André asked in the quote below for some pics, of which I took and am posting, but when I transfered them from my FSX computer to my internet computer and loaded them up I was shocked because they look nothing like the originals due to the difference in monitor adjustments from the FSX computer to my internet computer. So much different in fact that I rebooted FSX and went to the same location to check and make sure it was right and sure enough it was just due to the difference in monitor adjustment. Too bad I cant make the screen shots reflect what I actually see on my FSX rig because they are pretty close to what I see on a typical day in the summer where I live.In fact I actually use two sky sets form REX, one for spring/summer when its hot and there is a lot of humidity and the sky if very light colored and then another sky set for fall/winter when its less humid and the sky is a darker blue color. I never posted my .ini file since it's almost always a work in progress but I will post it below if you want to try it or tweak it. Just make sure your monitor refresh rate is the same as what I have mine set in the bottom.Would like to see some screen shots too...What are your settings at the moment Sean? Here you go André. Like I explained to Frank above, just moving these from my FSX rig to my internet rig kind of killed it for me and I hesitated to post them since due to different moniot adjustments between the two different rig, they dont look even close to what I actually see in FSX. In FSX however the sky is a pretty good representation of what I see in the spring/summer and I use a different sky set with similar .ini for flying in the fall/winter when the sky has less moisture in it and it much darker and blue looking. In this one I got the sky is about accurate, but the ground was a little too dark many due to the FSDT ground textures being a little dark and saturated, but if I lighten the .ini too much it washes out GEX textures, so I will need to actually adjust the textures manually using GIMP.The rest are better but maybe not typical of what I see due to your monitor config. These last 3 are typical of what my sunsets look like where I live. Not spectacular by any means like what REX offers, but very realistic looking on a typcial evening.I use REX Bright 2 for spring/summer and and Hawaii for fall/winter since its a little bit of darker blue, but the .ini is kep about the same. August 26, 201114 yr @ Sean Thanks for taking all that time and effort appreciated, have seen all those other effect ini files floating around and had the same feelings. However as you know lol I'm up to my head in development of our 757, and don't have that much time as I would like to devote to this stuff... As for my monitor it's hardware calibrated so I run the true correct colors :-) From your screen shots it seems you have done great work, would love to try it local here (it's simply exchanging an ini file so easy to try lol)I'm using myself a palette texture to have that special effect... @ OP thanks for sharing and taking the time really appreciated but as for the new effect I'm not sure if i like what I seeIt looks a bit oversaturate to me ;-) André

As for my monitor it's hardware calibrated so I run the true correct colors :-) Yeah, I need to learn about calibrating my FSX monitor, however since I finally seem to have gotten the sky and ini the way I want I better leave it alone or I might need to re-do the whole thing again if my monitor requires a lot of adjustment. Plus I have looked at some of that monitor calibrating stuff and frankly get confused by some of it, not to mention that I dont want to shell out big buck for the software. Being that your a developer, I suppose its manditory so that you can accurately texture stuff to look correct. From your screen shots it seems you have done great work would love to try it local here it's simply exchanging an ini file so easy to try lolI'm using myself a palette texture to have that special effect... Oh yeah, I forgot to include the ini. Here's the one I am currently using in those shots without a palette. I have tried a few palettes but have yet to find one that I liked and modifed a few myself but gave up on it, lol.//Sean 8-5-2011 Experimental sin palette[PROXY]EnableProxyLibrary=0InitProxyFunctions=0ProxyLibrary=[GLOBAL]UseEffect=0AlternativeDepth=1AllowAntialias=0BugFixMode=0SkipShaderOptimization=0QuadVertexBuffer=0EnableShaders_3_0=1UseMRTRendering=0AdditionalConfigFile=enbseries2.ini[EFFECT]EnableBloom=1EnableOcclusion=0EnableReflection=0EnableMotionBlur=0EnableWater=0EnableShadow=0DepthBias=0EnableDepthOfField=0[iNPUT]KeyUseEffect=123KeyBloom=120KeyOcclusion=121KeyReflection=122KeyCombination=16KeyScreenshot=44KeyShadow=119KeyWater=118KeyShowFPS=106[REFLECTION]ReflectionPower=0ChromePower=0UseCurrentFrameReflection=1ReflectionQuality=1ReflectionSourceSpecular=50ReflectionSourceTFactor=50UseAdditiveReflection=1ReflectionDepthBias=0UseLowResReflection=1ReflectionSinglePass=1UseEnvBump=0EnvBumpAmount=100EnvBumpOffset=100ReflectionFlip=0[bLOOM]BloomPowerDay=5 //5 with Hawaii sky - 9 with desert - 5 with bright2 - 6 with vibrant day or exact - 4 vividBloomFadeTime=500 BloomConstantDay=1BloomQuality=3BloomScreenLevelDay=35BloomCurveDay=0BloomPowerNight=3BloomConstantNight=5 BloomCurveNight=1BloomScreenLevelNight=20BloomAdaptationScreenLevel=40BloomAdaptationMultiplier=99BloomAllowOversaturation=1BloomMaxLimit=100[sSAO]UseFilter=1OcclusionQuality=2FilterQuality=1DarkeningLevel=15BrighteningLevel=20 IlluminationLevel=20 AdditiveIlluminationLevel=25UseAmbientOcclusion=1UseIndirectLighting=1FadeDistance=50UseForAlphaTest=0UseForAlphaBlend=0[colorCORRECTION]DarkeningAmountDay=1 //23 stock - 2 with Hawaii sky - 1 with bright 2ScreenLevelDay=30ScreenLevelNight=15DarkeningAmountNight=3 //5 stock - 3 normal - 4 with full moonGammaCurveDay=0 //stock 1GammaCurveNight=1 //1ColorSaturationDay=0ColorSaturationNight=0 //-2 stock - best 0UsePaletteTexture=0[WATER]UseWaterDeep=0WaterDeepness=20WaterQuality=0[sHADOW]ShadowFadeStart=40ShadowFadeEnd=80ShadowAmountDay=50ShadowAmountNight=40 //40ShadowScreenLevelDay=40ShadowScreenLevelNight=30ShadowQuality=1UseShadowFilter=0FilterQuality=2ShadowBlurRange=30[ENGINE]ForceAnisotropicFiltering=0MaxAnisotropy=16ForceDisplayRefreshRate=0DisplayRefreshRateHz=60[MOTIONBLUR]MotionBlurQuality=1MotionBlurVelocity=0MotionBlurRotation=0[PERPIXELLIGHTING]SpecularColorMin=0SpecularColorMax=100SpecularColorMultiplier=100SpecularGlossinessMin=0SpecularGlossinessMax=100SpecularGlossinessMultiplier=100[DEPTHOFFIELD]DOFQuality=2DOFNumberOfPasses=1DOFFocusRange=50DOFBlurinessRange=10 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
