  1. Thanks for all your replies, It's given me something to think about. Re the windows not supported message. It states "Unsupported Hardware" and then says " Your PC uses a processor that is designed for the latest version of Windows, and updates are not supported" The processor is an Intel Core i7 7740X @ 4.30GHz, Kaby Lake 14nm Technology. As for the data transfer, does it matter if the 2 SSD's are from different manufacturers. The installed one is a 119GB Crucial, and the one I have already bought is a 480GB Kingston. Sorry for the basic questions, but I am far from being computer knowledgeable. Cheers, Neil
  2. Hi Guys, My C Drive is a 119GB SSD and it's in the red with only 10GB of space left. I want to get a higher capacity one, so is it possible to transfer all the data, including the O/S from one to another. All my flight sim stuff is on my E Drive with plenty of space left. I am on Windows 7 64bit Home premium . Do you think I should move to Windows 10 64 bit. I have just upgraded my MOBO, CPU and GPU. I keep getting messages saying that I can't get anymore Windows updates. Cheers, Neil
  3. Thanks for the answer, that's good news.
  4. Hi Guys, As I intend to upgrade to P3Dv4 soon, and the 737NGX, will it have an SDK for Events as my FSX version has?. Will they be the same event numbers. The reason for asking is that I have all my switches/knobs and rotaries set up for the FSX version and would like to do the same for the newer one. Cheers,
  5. EVT_CONTROL_STAND_TOGA1_SWITCH EVENT ID 70316 " " " TOGA2 " " " 70319
  6. Made me feel almost homesick, nice view of my favourite mountain in the background, grew up in its shadow. Expat Cape Townian.
  7. Funny you should mention this, as just yesterday, I was looking at the Go-Flight website and found they had replacement pots for sale. Obviously they have recognised that there is a problem with the design. Cheers.
  8. Am in the process of buying the Yoko yoke at the moment. As I also have the Virtual Fly TQ6, they have offered me a discount on the purchase. As its a fairly heavy item, the cost of transport is a bit high, but that's the penalty of living in Australia I suppose. A minor problem I have at the moment is the mounting of the yoke. My present Saitek one is fitted underneath the table, but the Yoko Yoke is much higher at 185mm, so that's going to leave a lot less leg room. Just a thought on the Go-Flight TQ6. I've had one for years, and after a while, I fitted the aftermarket wired reversers. I found that because they were so heavy, they tended to drop down, under their own weight. Unlike the Virtual Fly TQ6, there is no way to retension them, unless you strip the unit right down to get to the pots. So I have a very expensive paper weight gathering dust.
  9. Hi Chock, Thanks for the explanation.
  10. Don't quite understand this statement , " A Dash-8 is noticeably shorter than a Q400."
  11. Hi John, Sorry nothing worked for you, I have no experience with dual pulse switches. That's why I stayed away from Desktop Aviator, and got Leo Bodnar cards instead, and used plain simple on/off switches. Neil
  12. I see that the event id 69749 is for the taxi lights. Probably a silly question , but are you putting the event id into both control boxes?. That is "Control sent when button pushed" and "Control sent when button released" and the (0) parameter in the top box and the (1) parameter in the bottom box. Have you tried reversing the parameters as well ?. Cheers, Neil
  13. Hi John, I have the full set of the SDK with all the event id's already as a full total, you dont have to keep adding on the extra numbers. I got it from the following site. WWW.Myhomecockpit.de, its run by a guy in Germany. On his site he has a full explanation on how to use the SDK with examples, and the SDK is downloadable as a PDF. I am running 4 Leo Bodnar BBI-32, and 2 BU0836X cards through FSUIPC without any problems. I have over 60 switches plus rotary switches and push buttons. I have my plain on/off switches as parameters 1 / 0. Rotaries 0/1,1/2,2/3,3/4 etc. Emergency lights, Off 0/1, Armed/on 2/1. The SDK download from his site is PMDG 737 (Download PMDG_737NGX_EVENT_IDs_SP1D.PDF Hope some of this helps. Neil
  14. Just about to upgrade to a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1081 Ti OC 11GB, an Intel i7-7700K Kabylake 4.2 Gh 8MB CPU. and Corsair 16GB DDR4 Vengeance LPX memory. Will be running 3 monitors. Its going to cost just over $ Aus 2000, so I hope it will be worth it. I am planning on moving to P3D V4. Am running Windows 7 64- Bit any thoughts, any comments welcome. Neil
  15. The last time I saw a Shackleton flying was when I was doing my National Service in the SAN, We were off Madagascar doing survey work on the old SAS NATAL, a hydrographic survey ship, when the SAAF did a mail drop. What a beautiful sight and sound, never to be forgotten.
  16. Victoria , Australia. 180 Km due South of Mildura, farming country. Previously, Fremantle Western Australia, before that, UK, before that, South Africa .
  17. I like them, as they tend to add a little bit of realism. I have 3 dedicated switches on a side panel. (1) door open/close , (2) Airstairs in/out (3) Airbridge dock/undock. Used mainly for my 737-8 NGX.
  18. Thanks guys, for the answer. Wont bother about it anymore. Cheers.
  19. Just a quick question re the above. Although I have the marker beacon switch on, I have never heard it make a sound, no matter which airport or approach I do. Have no problems with any other aural warnings and radios. Cheers.
  20. Have a problem with the Mach airspeed and Stall warning test buttons. Using the SDK events via FSUIPC, I have set up my physical push buttons for normal preflight testing. On pushing the buttons, the warning buzzer goes on as it should, but it refuses to stop. This applies to all 4 buttons, and it doesn't matter which parameter I use, it keeps doing the same thing. When I go to the overhead in the sim, the buttons are showing as released. I have to then push the buttons with the mouse cursor, to silence them. The L/E devices and Wing overheat test buttons behave as they should with no problems. I just cannot figure out what is causing this issue.
  21. I really do not understand why people do not utilize the supplied PMDG SDK. Every button and switch which can be used on the 737NGX is in there. It is so simple to use and doesn't require LINDA or LUA , just plain simple FSUIPC. I have got rid of my Saitek throttles and now use the Virtual Fly TQ6, which has no switches. Have made a separate panel along side the TQ, and have wired the required switches into it. In the SDK, find EVT_CONTROL_STAND_ENG1_START LEVER The event number is 70320 EVT_CONTROL_STAND_ENG2_START LEVER " " " " 70321 The parameters are 0 and 1 Provided that your Saitek switches trigger a button in FSUIPC you will be good to go.
  22. You have to have the GoFlight Interface Tool from PollyPot software, for the MCPPRO to work with the PMDG NGX. You also need it for any other GoFlight hardware that you may have.
  23. I had a cable disconnect on my hard drive, and had problems getting programmes to open. After fixing the cable fault, the FSX desktop icon wouldn't open the program. I took the advice that F70, above offered, and that seemed to have resolved the problem. It wasn't, anything to do with my AV, registry, or BIOS. Cheers.
  24. Problem resolved. Thanks for the replies.
